I was completely captivated then, and I’m still captivated now by Hood Pendants. They check all my quirky boxes for exceptional lighting: hidden bulbs, a cozy glow, and an incredible shape. I had a fantastic time working on this home in Ann Arbor's historic west side. Dating back to the mid-1800s and constructed by a brick maker, we decided to remove the old servant staircase in the back to create this stunning kitchen. To our surprise, we discovered that every wall in the house was made of brick—exterior, insulating, and interior. That was a first for us, 12" thick walls! The blend of warm vintage charm with modern softness is a delightful reminder of why we embark on renovations.

Weekends can feel extra tough for busy families. After a hectic week, it’s easy to wake up to a never-ending chore list and feel defeated. This morning I’m choosing inspo and joy (thanks ). Homes are meant to be lived in, celebrated, and played in. This space was designed for my husband and kiddos — big gamers who love spending time together. Final moldings and hardware are not quite complete but we are enjoying this space finally! 🎮🤍
