This room reflects the energy within the home, incorporating bold colors and patterns, vintage treasures, and livable luxury. This space was designed to curate a relaxed, yet very intentional vibe. Injecting drama, sophistication, and a bit of "unexpected" vibrancy through the use of two Wesley Hall velvet sofas in a mulberry color, creating a space that feels cozier and more intimate. A design with intention creates interiors that become sanctuaries for our souls. It's about understanding what already exists in the room, what has meaning, and how to weave the new into the room so it feels current, connected, and entirely personal. This room isn't completely finished yet, but I did want to share what has been done thus far. Thank you to this client for allowing me the opportunity to work with you on this project.

NO EXCITEMENT IN YOUR LIFE? Now's the chance to change that by adding a some color and pizzaz to your room's decor. White, beige, and cream upholstery items will always be with us because they're a safe choice; however, wouldn't it be nice to be a little bold and step over to the wild side? Your home should always reflect your personality and I've been in some homes where the white walls should have been orange and the cream sofa should have been purple! The homeowner’s personality was vibrant, bold, and joyful, but their room decor screamed I'M BORING! Here's a sampling of the upholstered pieces we have now or will be getting within the next few weeks. These are all brand new fabrics with stunning colors. The design world is filled with beautiful colors, so let's enjoy them! We are passionate about what we do and are proud that 95% of what we sell is all American made. Again, if you're not comfortable venturing outside your safe space, then let us help you! This is what we do every single day and we're not afraid to throw some color your way! 😀

Just finished up this installation for the common areas for Grand Dunes in Destin. Let me begin by conveying a resounding THANK YOU to the committee which I had the joy of working with. This was such a fun project for me and I genuinely enjoyed every minute of it. In any design project there will always be a substantial amount of time spent planning, selecting, and even reselecting items to assure everything is cohesive; however, that upfront time in planning prepared the foundation for the desired outcome. It was truly my pleasure to be a part of this project.

We just received new clients in Enterprise, AL who have dreamed of a home library/speak easy for over two decades. Finally, this week they are closing on their dream house (with the amazing Paula Dube of Team Linda Simmons Real Estate) and we are looking forward to making their blank space into the home of their dreams. See below two images that will serve as inspiration for this space.

At R. Medford Designs, we source over 95% of our textiles, furnishings and accessories from LOCAL small businesses in order to have a broader impact on the local economy. We believe that when our community does better, we do better. This particular project will be sourcing flooring from Carpetland USA Granite & Flooring (with the assistance of their amazing Specialist Cindy Holladay), pieces from the impeccable Dennis Lee Furniture, lighting by Mayer Lighting Showroom, and many more. Here is a little fun image for your Friday scrolling! Randy and I (Chris) love spending time in France. It’s become our home away from home. We take so much influence from the people, the fashion of Paris, the winters in Rouen, the summers in Aix-en-Province, and the history from the halls of Versailles. Trust is the cornerstone in the success of any design project. Your client trusts you because you have made a concerted effort to get to know them, their personality, and their own personal design esthetic. So…this is what happens when your trusting client of 2 years says “just order me a chair with whatever fabric you think is best and that will look great with the bedroom pieces you’ve already put in there. “ So i did! I sent the pics to the client shortly after it arrived today and received a text back almost immediately that said “OMG, it’s gorgeous!! I can’t wait to see it in my bedroom.” Every element of this chair was designed so it would fit seamlessly with the existing bedroom pieces, yet make it’s own statement and be just as glamorous as the other pieces in the room. I know the client’s design esthetic, but also know just how far outside the box I could go on the design of this chair without being decapitated for my design choices! 🫣It’s honestly a privilege working with clients who genuinely trust you.

We recently had two clients that I am working with that wanted to bring an "Asian Flare" to their new construction A-Frame. We took that inspiration and ran with it. See Below our final concept that they loved! We added a Le Corbusier style chaise lounge. Everything is on order and we are waiting patiently for the final touches on the home to be made and the pieces to be placed. We will keep you updated with pictures of the finished result.
