Turns out talking about myself is a lot harder than talking about adoptable dogs. 😂

A little introduction for those who are new here (and those who have been following along for a while)!

I'm the artist, overthinker, serial overachiever, and one-woman show behind Michaela King Art.

Trying to embrace a little more progress over perfection, especially when it comes to putting myself out there.

Meet Axel! A sweet, slightly introverted boy who just needs a little time to show you how much love he has to give.

From making new friends to patio lunch, trail walks, and a playdate with my dog Jeffrey, we got to watch Axel’s confidence grow all day.

His adorable little nub also comes with an important reminder: Axel lost part of his tail after an accident involving a retractable leash. Retractable leashes can cause serious injuries… one more reason to choose a fixed-length leash for your adventures.

I painted this one last year and still love the contrast of the white pumpkin against that deep, dark background. A little moody, a little cozy, and perfect for this time of year.

True to her name, Passion does everything with her whole heart. 🐾

This sweet girl is just under a year and a half old and is equal parts adventure buddy, passenger princess, playmate, and professional snuggler. She loves people, other dogs, belly rubs, treats, and apparently carrying her own PetSmart purchases to the car. 😂

Passion is potty trained, knows her basic commands, has experience with children, and has done well with both dogs and cats. More than anything, she just wants people of her own to love.

A huge thank you to PetSmart, Street, Sea Love + Inside Out for welcoming Passion and showing her so much love during our adventure.

If you’re looking for a devoted, playful best friend, Passion is your girl.

PUPDATE: Ryatt was adopted!

Ryatt is the kind of dog who makes friends everywhere he goes. 💙🐾

This almost 4-year-old sweetheart is one big hunk of love with the happiest smile and the gentlest soul. From making new friends at Pet Supplies Plus to getting spoiled at Dover Meineke and charming everyone at Tri City Subaru, Ryatt spent the day soaking up pets, treats, sunshine, and all the love he could get.

He rides great in the car, loves a good adventure, and somehow manages to be both a playful goofball and a 70 lb lap dog. Ryatt is affectionate, social, treat motivated, and happiest when he’s close to his people. He’s great with other dogs, did amazing meeting everyone throughout the day, and would make the perfect patio buddy this summer. ☀️

One thing is for sure… everyone who meets Ryatt falls in love with him. 💙

Huge thank you to our friends at , , and for welcoming Ryatt and showing him so much kindness today. It truly means so much for these dogs. 🐾
