SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) makes this time of year feel more difficult for many people. The daylight gets shorter, people struggle with depression and a feeling of blah. This article shows some research from THE Ohio State University. on the subject. As an outdoor lighting designer, I always pay attention to research on SAD. Proper lighting of residential outdoor space has many obvious benefits, but it can truly change peoples lives!

Check out the article here:

When used as directed, light therapy lamps are generally safe and have minimal side effects. Here’s everything to know before using one.

How can one family produce 3-4x the trash of every other family in the neighborhood? How does it happen every week????? This is one of Dublin, Ohio's greatest mysteries!!

Our favorite reviews aren't always the longest. Sometimes it's one sentence that says everything.

"Easily the best buying, installation and customer service experience I've had in a very long time."

That's exactly the experience we work to create. Thanks for trusting Light Up Columbus.

Studio today. Back to lighting tomorrow.

Chris joined the Beyond the Design podcast today for a conversation about outdoor lighting, business, and a question we don’t get asked every day…

How is lighting design similar to (or different from) interior design?

It was a fun conversation with some great insights, and we can’t wait for you to hear it.

We’ll share the episode as soon as it’s live. Stay tuned!

Christmas in July? Cliché. Booking your holiday lighting now? Brilliant. July is when we start planning for the holiday season because the best displays don't happen at the last minute. The homeowners who get the displays everyone admires are the ones who reserve their spot early.

If you want a professionally designed holiday lighting display without climbing a ladder, replacing burned-out bulbs, or spending an entire weekend decorating, now is the time to book.

Your future December self will thank you.
