I’m honored to have received 2nd place at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center’s Fall Exhibition “The Source.”

Titled “Order and Chaos,” this mosaic is built from nearly 2,000 dice. The open book represents the source of knowledge and culture, with enlightenment bursting outward into the world.

Rendered only in black and white, the piece underscores contrast and duality: ignorance and understanding, shadow and light, mystery and revelation. The white rays breaking through the dark field symbolize enlightenment rising from the unknown.

Dice are an especially meaningful medium here — each one suggests randomness and fate, yet when arranged with intention they form meaning. Knowledge works the same way: isolated facts, like scattered rolls, become coherent when assembled into a larger whole.

And a small Easter egg: the mosaic is perfectly balanced, using the exact same number of black dice as white. This symmetry reflects the harmony of two fundamental elements of Being.

This piece is deeply special to me as my first public entry into the art world. Winning a prize on top of that was just a bonus. Grateful it will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.

Jack Sparrow has long been one of my favorite characters in film. Sometimes I catch myself wondering why we even root for him. He’s selfish, yet generous. A coward, yet noble. The only predictable thing about him is that he’s unpredictable. He’s a walking contradiction — and that’s exactly why we love him.

Jack is a paradox, and that’s what makes him so human. Inside all of us are two forces pulling in opposite directions. Some days one pulls harder, and we’re left with the weight of choices we regret. This reflection is about what it feels like to be caught in that loop, told through the lens of one unforgettable pirate.

For this piece, I wanted to capture how it would feel once hung on the wall.

This image is a favorite from our wedding day, the black-and-white medium adds a timeless quality to the beauty already present in the photo.

For reference, this example uses roughly 3,500 dice.

We all love the idea of being the hero. But the older I get, the more I realize how much weight is carried by the supporting roles — the roots under the surface, the helpers who shield and brace.

This piece is about learning to value them… and becoming one for someone else.

As a kid, no athlete looked larger in my life than Kobe Bryant. His career was electric, but what surprised me most was how he transformed after basketball ended.

He showed “Mamba Mentality” wasn’t just about the game — it was an entire philosophy. When he passed, it was the first time a celebrity death felt personal. I realized it wasn’t just because I tried to emulate his moves on the court, but because of the mark he left on society.

Georgia gave me my roots, Tampa gave me my home. Like family and friends, one was given to me, the other I chose – both are worth celebrating. This is my first attempt using dice as the medium for a mural.

Mike Evans is arguably the greatest Buccaneer of all time. He holds nearly every major receiving record in franchise history, is a Tampa Bay legend, and a future Hall of Famer. Drafted in 2014, he’s spent his entire career in pewter and red – a rare symbol of loyalty and consistency in today’s NFL.

Across 11 straight seasons, Evans has never fallen short of 1,000 receiving yards, tying Jerry Rice for the most consecutive seasons at that mark – and he’s aiming to break it this year. He’s done it while catching passes from seven different quarterbacks, proving his greatness transcends the talent around him.

With that kind of loyalty, consistency, and impact, there was no better player to debut my dice series than Mike Evans.

The first piece I ever gave away was to my grandmother after she confessed her unapologetic love for Elvis.

Now, it proudly hangs in exhibition in the guest room of her house with the entire room themed to match — knowing this is where I stay when I visit.

This is the story of how a friendly debate turned into a permanent reminder that no matter how much she loves me, I'll never be "The King".
