A little toile. A little timber. A lot of charm.

This dining room had beautiful bones all along—a soaring ceiling, gorgeous natural light, and a dramatic bay window just waiting for its moment. We leaned into the romance of the architecture and gave the space a fresh dose of personality.

Layers of blue-and-cream toile create a storybook backdrop, while warm oak furnishings, woven textures, tailored plaid drapery, and a lantern-style chandelier bring balance, texture, and just the right amount of polish. The deep blue cabinet adds a dash of confidence, while the oversized mural and botanical accents keep the room feeling collected rather than formal.

The result feels equal parts English country house, heirloom cottage, and weekend escape. Bright, welcoming, a little unexpected, and infinitely more fun than before.

Because life’s too short for boring dining rooms.

Curtain cocoon behavior.

One of our favorite parts of designing children’s spaces is watching them instantly become part of the imagination. The nursery reveal lasted approximately thirty seconds before the drapery became a magical hiding place — which honestly feels like the highest compliment possible.

A beautiful room is never just about how it looks. It’s about the memories waiting to happen inside it.

What was once a simple Manhattan nursery for one little girl is now a layered storybook retreat designed to hold two sisters — and all the magic, memories, and sweetness that come with growing up together.

To make room for this next chapter, we completely reimagined the space by partitioning the room with custom bespoke sage velvet drapery trimmed in blush pink tassels, creating a nursery that feels intimate, whimsical, and beautifully tucked away within the apartment.

The goal was warmth. Wonder. A room that felt like childhood.

We leaned all the way into romance and whimsy with gathered drapery, dusty florals, mossy greens, warm brass, scalloped details, and cozy little moments tucked into every corner. Same footprint. Same city apartment. But now the space feels completely transportive — like stepping into the pages of a beloved children’s book.

This is why we love design.
Not because it simply makes things prettier, but because it changes how a space feels to live in.

A tiny Manhattan nursery reimagined for two sisters, years of bedtime stories, little imaginations, and the sweetest next chapter ahead.

Add the unexpected to spice things up! The pairing of this traditional botanical print with this modern & minimal round framing makes this statement piece particularly eye catching.

A look inside one of our homes. Welcome to Megan’s powder room… and get ready for a theological question… can design be feminist? Why yes! I believe it can.

This powder room was designed as an ode to Hildegard of Bingen — the 12th-century mystic, composer, herbalist, and visionary whose work celebrated the sacred beauty woven throughout the natural world. Her illuminated manuscripts, botanical studies, and deeply symbolic view of nature inspired the layered, immersive feeling behind this little jewel box of a room. Seems weird, but hear me out.

We wanted the space to feel storied and transportive — like stepping into a forgotten corner of an old European manor where candlelight flickers against aged wood and tapestry-covered walls.

One of the most special details is the tapestry-inspired mural wallcovering, applied directly to the walls to mimic the feeling of an antique woven textile. Rich wood tones, aged brass, dramatic lighting, moody florals, and deep jewel tones all work together to create a space that feels intimate, romantic, and a little otherworldly. We finished off the look with a gorgeous wallpapered ceiling.

Proof that even the smallest rooms can hold enormous personality.

A little corner moment that proves the smallest details often carry the most soul.
From the moody indigo rug to the softly tailored gingham seating and blush glass pendant, this space was designed to feel layered, collected, and quietly luxurious — like a room that invites you to slow down and stay awhile.

We love balancing classic forms with unexpected color and texture to create interiors that feel both timeless and deeply personal. Thoughtful interiors aren’t just about beauty — they shape the way you gather, rest, and experience everyday life.
And get a look at those custom draperies!! Bronze silk… be still my beating heart.. Thank you Germani Design for that magical touch! (They created the custom@gingham cushion covers as well!)

Welcome to The Studio Files...A new ongoing series where we share projects in development, conceptual renderings, in-progress transformations, and completed spaces we’re unable to professionally photograph right now for one reason or another:)

At Dolce Design Co., some of our most beautiful work exists in the layers before installation day: the architectural decisions, the material conversations, the mood, the tension, the storytelling, and the vision that shapes a space long before the final styling piece is placed.

For our first Studio Files feature, let us introduce a room in the style of the Refined Maximalist (with a touch of whimsy!) we’re sharing a living room transformation centered around warmth, architectural contrast, collected textures, and a dramatic botanical focal wall designed to completely reshape the feeling of the space.

Swipe through to see:
• the original room (before)
• the concept board
• the final rendering (after)

This room began with beautiful bones in a mid-century home— but lacked depth, character, and a sense of story. Through layered millwork, mural wallpaper, soft architectural forms, and richly textured furnishings, the space was transformed into something far more immersive, grounded, and inviting.

This is one of my all-time favorite light fixtures. This string of pearl style chandelier is adorned with individually carved alabaster globes lit from within. The depth and beauty that are the hallmarks of this light can only be achieved with the luminescence and uniqueness of real stone. We just photographed this stunning project today, so stay tuned for more eye candy from this jewel box!

One of my favorite lights from Market this year. It's so simple and so dramatic - with essential pieces like this, the detailing has to be spot on to make it sing. This one is a virtuoso - mwah, chef's kiss 💁🏼‍♀️
