It's another Featured Fiber Friday and today we're chatting about Trill from Urth Yarns!

A fi*****ng weight blend of 80% merino wool and 20% linen, this yarn has a unique texture that makes for lovely garments and accessories. Since the linen takes dye differently than the merino wool, it results in this lightly marled/heathered look that really pops. We carry eight eye-catching colors in these lovely jewel tones, perfect for if you're one of those folks chomping at the bit for autumn to start. Each skein has 440 yards too so you don't need many for a light, cross-season top

Upcycle them with beautiful embroidery, of course! Bring a tote bag of your choice to our Upcycle Your Tote Bag with Veggie Embroidery with on Sunday August 30 from 12-2pm

It's another Featured Fiber Friday and today we're featuring Eleanor's favorite yarn, in honor of her last day with us 😢

Moonshine by Juniper Moon is a gorgeously soft, worsted-weight blend of highland wool, extrafine baby alpaca, and organic silk. It does, in fact, shine, which makes it great for making standout garments and accessories that will not only net you compliments but also keep you warm

Want to learn how to mend beautifully?

We still have a couple spots in Saturday's Sashiko class, where you'll learn gorgeous Japanese-style geometric embroidery

We also have some spots left in Sunday's embroidered patchwork class where you'll learn fun and whimsical embroidered patchwork, like the one pictured here

Both classes are suitable for beginners, no embroidery experience necessary! Also all supplies are included with the class! If this sounds like fun, head to the "Classes" tab on our website and sign up before the end of tomorrow

Already have plans this weekend? There will be one more opportunity to catch at our shop this month on Sunday 8/30 where she'll be teaching how to embroider farmer's market tote bags. Bring your own tote bag! This class is also suitable for beginners. Sign ups for this class are also available on our site

O.M.G. Look at this 💫stunning💫 yarn that Diane, one of our regular spinners, spun up out of Rambouillet fiber in these absolutely gorgeous colors! We don't know about you but we're in love 😍 We do still have a couple braids of this colorway left if you want to try your hand at spinning up something beautiful

It's another Featured Fiber Friday and today we're talking about Kinu, the tweedy 100% silk yarn from fan-favorite ITO!

It's unique look brings interest to both garments and accessories alike and works great either held alone or held as a carry along with another yarn. It's light fi*****ng weight makes it breathable and produces fine stitches. Each cone holds a whopping 464 yards and it comes in a nice array of colors to fit different tastes

A heads up, our clearance section is STOCKED right now so be sure to check it out while you're in and help us clear some space in our wee shop 😥

Next up in August are our Sashiko style mending class and embroidered patch mending class both taught by the fabulous !

Sashiko is a stylish Japanese method of mending that uses gorgeous geometric stitches to mend fabric. Having seen jeans that were mended in the Sashiko style, we're pretty excited to get our hands on this class. Saturday 8/22, 2-4pm, all materials are provided

You know what's better than just patching a hole in your clothes? Patching it with embroidery! Learn how to make beautiful embroidered mends on various fabrics, much like the mushroom and plant patches in slide two! Sunday 8/23 12-2pm, all materials are provided but you're welcome to bring a cotton or denim garment to mend!

To register for both or either of these classes, head to the "classes" tab on our website (link in bio). They've already started filling up due to the fun and excitement from last Saturday's class on visible mending. Registration for the classes will close on Thursday 8/20

Also, as a side note, we're still accepting applicants for our weekend staffer position! Please email any resumes to [email protected] or drop them by the shop

Heads up for anyone coming out to the shop today, there is a bike race in the area today that may slow down traffic so please drive carefully and leave early if you need to

Also, we're still hiring! We're seeking a weekend staffer to fill the roll being left by the fabulous Eleanor as she heads to college. If you're interested in a job surrounded by fiber with plenty of time for crafting, please head to our website/blog for more details and how to apply or stop by the shop

Finally, did you know we have a section of the store solely devoted to plant based fibers? Ideally to peruse if you're looking to get in some final summer knits or if you're allergic to wool or another animal fiber. This makes it easy for those with allergies to pick a yarn without having to worry about handling animal fiber

First, a reminder, we will be closing early tomorrow, at 1:30pm, for a class

For today's Featured Fiber Friday, we're looking at a fun new arrival that can help scratch that need to knit or crochet while having the desire to not have a huge, wool project on your lap

Introducing Guilin from Kokomo Yarns, a 45% bamboo, 40% wool, 15% nylon blend. Perfect for a quick, durable sock project and very soft on the hands, without being too overly warm to handle. Each 50g ball has 224 yards so each ball will make one standard sock. You can grab two of single color or mix and match for maximum fun! Swipe to see how the "Shiner" (purple/green, far right) colorway knits up. A sample sock in the "Fancy Pants" (red/blue/yellow, far left) colorway is coming soon as well! These colorways would also make super fun socks for babies and kiddos
