Styling these shelves was so exciting for me because of the history and meaning of the books and sentimental objects. Many of them conversation pieces, an old photograph, a mini sewing machine and lots of ducks 🦆☺️. This room tells a story. The most interesting spaces tell your story through the objects you’ve collected along the way.

If you look around and realize most of what you see is just “filler,” start swapping in pieces that you have collected along the way or start collecting:
✨ Something you found while traveling
✨ A local artisan’s work
✨ A vintage piece with a past
✨ Or even something passed down from family
⁠
You don’t need everything to be perfect, just personal to you and your story.

Love a good BEFORE & AFTER!

This was such a special client collaboration - our visions were aligned from the start, and we rode every high and low of the remodel together.

We found the “needle in the haystack” - the perfect wallpaper that tied into the home’s subtle clover theme and worked seamlessly with the original tile floor.

A few highlights from this powder/laundry room upgrade:
✨ A larger, floating sink to reclaim floor space (and make the room feel bigger) and matching hardware throughout - even the trip lever makes a difference
✨ Beadboard wrapping the entire room — not just one wall — for easy cleaning and timeless charm
✨ Wallpaper on the ceiling for unexpected visual interest

Simplicity works here because of the mix of materials and textures. I always try to use as many different materials as possible- I think it becomes a much more visually interesting space 💙 lamps and side tables are a good way to bring in new materials and textures. Hard to see but the lamps are travertine 😍
