Every other fall, I spend a few days at High Point Market sitting in sofas, opening drawers, and looking at what’s inside the furniture, not just at its surface. (Swipe to the deconstructed chair. That’s the part that matters most and is seen least.)

I sit in it so you don’t have to guess. Comfort, construction, and finish are things I want to judge in person before anything reaches a client’s home.

Beyond upholstery, this trip was about lighting, rugs, casegoods, and simply getting inspired. A few favorites are in the slides.

In the years between, I focus on kitchen and bath and on product knowledge, so I’m learning year-round on my clients’ behalf.

Some of the best rooms begin as the ones no one quite knew what to do with.

This started as an underused three-season room — a little forgotten, rarely lived in. We gave it a reason to be: a vaulted ceiling washed in a deep, moody blue, walls to match, and a run of new windows that pulls the backyard right into the room. By day, it’s a proper home office. When guests arrive, it becomes the room the guys drift toward — worn leather, a vintage style rug, a decanter within reach, and a point of view all its own.

Proof that the overlooked corners of a home are often the ones with the most to give.

Every home we’ve completed began the same way.

Not with a mood board or a paint chip — with a conversation. We walk through the house together, and I ask the questions that matter: What’s not working? Where does everyone gather? What do you wish this house did that it doesn’t?

From there, nothing happens quickly, and that’s the point. We plan. We consider. We bring in the right partners and trades at the right moment. Whether it’s furnishing a few rooms or reworking the house entirely, the path is the same — considered, unhurried, and handled so you don’t have to.

I take on a small number of projects each year, by design. It’s the only way to give each home the attention it deserves.

Every summer house has a list.

The sofa that's absorbed one too many wet bathing suits. The kitchen that strains when the whole family lands for a week. The primary bedroom that pales next to the one you left at home.

You add to the list every August. And by Labor Day, when the house is closed up and life resumes, it fades — until you unlock the door next May and there it is, waiting.

A well-designed summer home doesn't ask you to make do. It's ready for the full house, the sandy feet, the dinners that stretch past sunset — meant to be enjoyed now and well loved for a lifetime.

Behind these doors: a coffee bar that disappears when it’s not in use.

At Stone Ridge, we tucked the espresso station and morning essentials into a fully outfitted appliance garage — it never looks out of place whether you remember to shut the doors or not.

A house you love coming home to means even the coffee corner gets the full design treatment.

Your bathroom works. It just doesn't feel like yours anymore. The builder-grade vanity you promised yourself you'd replace. The tile that felt fine ten years ago. The layout you've simply learned to work around.

For this primary bath in Plum Beach, the vision was simple: a serene retreat for a summer home on the water. Every material choice flows from that. Dolomite marble in the shower, a geometric marble mosaic as the quiet centerpiece, soft blue-grey walls, polished nickel throughout. Nothing competes. Everything belongs.

Gansett Guest is featured in all four Hey Rhody Magazines this month!

This project was everything I love about full-service design. A family with a clear vision — a space for all ages, built to last, rooted in the place they love most. “Let your surroundings guide you.” It’s a principle that shaped every decision in this room.

My background isn't what people expect.

Before House of Winsor, I spent my career in the non-profit world — making grants in public art, communications for a private school, and fundraising for a hospital. I worked with people doing meaningful things and learned how to tell their stories.

What I always had alongside that: a mother who was a designer and antique dealer, a childhood spent helping her, and a genuine love of how spaces are made. In my teens you'd find me in the art studio. Later, studying art history in Boston and London. As an adult, when my husband and I tackled several large renovation projects — our own homes and those of people close to us — it became clear this was the work I was meant to do.

We've lived in East Greenwich for years, and I've spent every summer of my life in Narragansett. These are the communities I design for — and the ones I know best.

I opened House of Winsor in October 2022. The non-profit years didn't disappear — they shaped how I listen, how I communicate, and how seriously I take the trust clients place in me.
