SUMINAGASHI FLOW
Thank you to everyone who visited CEDAR Y SAND at the Parrish Art Museum Artisan Market this weekend, and to the Parrish for hosting such a wonderful gathering of artists and makers.

If you missed us, or would like a closer look, you can explore our Suminagashi Springs collection online.

Created in our East Hampton studio, Suminagashi Springs is inspired by the centuries-old Japanese art of suminagashi, or floating ink. The collection includes handmade stationery, bookmarks, notecards, pressed botanical art, and coastal-inspired painted paper goods, each shaped by water, place, and hand.

The market may be over, but the current continues online.

FOR THE COASTAL CHARACTER

Some people are easiest to shop for when you stop thinking about gifts and start thinking about character.

The home bartender. The coastal cook. The collector. The reader. The naturalist.

A field guide for Father's day to thoughtful finds inspired by coastal living, artistry, utility, and gathering.

FIELD NOTES.

Recent observations have documented several previously unclassified marine species, including the large-finned puffer, the whale-tailed clam, the spear-nosed flounder, and the lobster-clawed starfish.

Their taxonomy remains the subject of ongoing debate.

Fortunately, these curious specimens have adapted remarkably well to life between the pages of a good book.

Part of Specimens of Unlikely Waters—our collection of hand-drawn, hand-marbled bookmarks inspired by vintage natural history illustrations.

All the chill. None of the dilution.🥃

Our Gold Cube Series Barware pairs a sculptural glass cube with a classic rocks glass, keeping cocktails cooler longer without watering them down.

Part of For the Coastal Character—a curated Father's Day collection inspired by coastal living, gatherings, artistry, and thoughtful utility.

PRESSED BY THE SEA
“Sammys Beach ‘Ruby’” — a fragment of shoreline, gathered in Springs and preserved in time. Pressed seaweed layered over hand-marbled Suminagashi, where each pattern forms organically—never controlled, never repeated.
Part of our Suminagashi Impressions: Pressed by the Sea series.
We’ll be sharing pieces like this at the Spring Craft Market at Ashawagh Hall tomorrow April 25th.

THE LIGHT RETURNS.
With the first signs of the season, the coast awakens — familiar landmarks reopen, and the Montauk Point Lighthouse once again stands watch over the shoreline.
Our papercut silhouette art reflects this moment — a tribute to heritage, light, and the places that draw us back.
