This Saturday May 9th from 2-5pm at Wagbo Fiber + Folk, explore the world of natural dyes with color theory!
In this class, we will use natural dyes which impart each red, yellow, and blue – the primary colors. We will practice achieving secondary colors on silk fabric through overdyeing. Students will leave class with artful examples of their work in the form of silk scarves as well as a deepened understanding of naturals dyes and mixing colors.

Some throwbacks in this post!!
A shot of our past goat, Nubbins, with baby onesies that fit one of my human kids at the time! (They are almost 10 and 12 now)
Last photo is a throwback to a Crosshatch Center for Art & Ecology Skillswap at Earthwork Farm - oh hai Sierra LaRose!

"What is Wagbo Fiber + Folk?” you might ask.
Well, it is the latest iteration of grassroots fiber education happening at Wagbo Peace Center. It is what we have officially named what has been called the fiber arts classroom.
Please let me know if you want to get involved with steering or teaching!

This has been such a fun collaboration!

A loom has been set up in the library’s lobby, and anyone is welcome to stop in and add their own line of yarn to the collaborative art piece.

This fun class is coming up this weekend at Lavender Hill Farm!

Weave on driftwood!
Create a unique piece of art by combining northern Michigan driftwood with the warmth of weaving. Students will learn basic weaving principles and express themselves through the colors and texture of fibers. Everyone will leave class with their own ready-to-hang piece of fiber art.

Suitable for beginners and experienced weavers alike • ages 10 and up.

Tomorrow! December 7 from 12-8pm at Short's Brewing Company, during the Light Up the Night event, me and the Bellaire Artists Guild will be slinging our wares for your holiday desires.

Grab a pint, a stained glass corn dog from Broken Glass Co, and parous the gorgeous imagery of twohoots.studio and Samantha Hall. Try not to eat too much chocolate from Madeleine Vedel while aweing at Austin Rowlader's live bookbinding. You know what to do at my booth: pick out your favorite upcycled eco-printed garment, smell a beeswax candle, consider a new upcycled table runner, learn a thing or two about process, and of course probably buy something.

You can support us local makers in lieu of sending your hard earned money into the ether of questionable quality and suspect labor practices - it's always free shipping when you buy in IRL!
