My car is packed for Good Makers Market (Friday, Sept. 4 from 3-7
and Saturday, Sept. 5 from 9-4) in Tipton, Iowa.

As I was packing my bags, I paused to take these photos. All of these are my "final few" of these designs for this year...and possibly forever. At the end of each year, I retire most of my designs and these may be on the chopping block.

And...I've been hesitant to even say this next part out loud...I, myself, may be retiring from string art. Or, at least scaling WAY back.

It's tough to source my supplies at a reasonable price as all of the cost of goods, show fees, and basically everything have increased.

It's tough to sell art in this economy as so many people are struggling to pay for far more necessary things like food, gas, and their rent/mortgage.

It's tough to hammer nails while I'm trying to heal my tennis elbow.

And, I've been toughing it out so far...but just this past month, there has been a restructure at my "real job" that affects my daily job duties, I'm working through a major family emergency, my boys' activities are amping up...and every single weekend I have "free" from other obligations is booked for shows through mid-December.

So, with that being said, I'm FOR SURE not making any custom orders for the remainder of the year.

I'm FOR SURE not taking on more string art classes (I have some already scheduled at the local libraries that I will still teach).

I'm FOR SURE not making any more inventory except my already planned Winter designs.

I'm FOR SURE that this isn't QUITE it for me. I have some huge shows scheduled (including this weekend) and over 1,500 pieces in my available inventory with about 300 more planned for 2026.

But, I'm NOT for sure what the future will bring.

So, I guess this is a VERY long way of saying if you see me post something you want, don't hesitate to comment if you want it held OR if you see something at a show, grab it while you can because when they are gone, they are GONE, including these final few!
