This recent residential photography session captured a beautiful full interior renovation and rear addition by Oak, Delaware’s Custom Home Builder thoughtfully blending updated spaces with the character and history of the original cottage.

From the preserved wood-paneled rooms and original details to the light-filled kitchen, custom built-ins, inviting window seats, and coastal-inspired interiors, every space feels both refreshed and connected to the home’s story.

It’s always rewarding to photograph a project where thoughtful design doesn’t mean losing the character that made the home special in the first place.

The Great Blue Heron has become an unmistakable symbol of the Chesapeake Bay—patient, graceful, and quietly powerful.

This week, we’re excited to introduce you to one of our favorite local photographers, Donna Tolbert-Anderson of White Egret Studio.

For more than 40 years, Donna has photographed the landscapes, waterways, wildlife, and quiet beauty of the Delmarva Peninsula. Her work captures the moments many of us pass by every day-but rarely stop to truly appreciate.

Throughout the week we’ll feature a different piece from her collection, share a little about her work, and celebrate the beauty of the place we call home.
