We have a feeling the egg cream is ready for a very big moment.

It’s one of those true old-fashioned soda fountain drinks that somehow never lost its charm — simple, fizzy, nostalgic and a little mysterious because, despite the name, there’s no egg and no cream in it.

We’ve learned over time how to make them just right, and some of the nicest compliments have come from people visiting from New York who’ve told us ours taste just like the egg creams they remember.

That means something to us, because this is exactly the kind of tradition we want to keep alive here at our soda fountain.

We think everyone should try a real egg cream at least once — especially a younger generation that may have never even heard of one.

And we’re just getting started. We’ll be adding more flavors and putting our own spin on this old soda fountain favorite.

Maybe the next big drink trend has actually been sitting here all along. 🥤✨

AN APPRAISER’S CASE FILE: Help us close the archive on this 1912 Lehigh Valley mystery! As an appraiser, half the joy of my job is the historical deep dive. Today, I’m bringing you right into the active research folder for Salvage Goods! We just acquired this authentic, striking Edwardian illustration (17.5” x 13.5” framed). It is hand-signed and dated: “M.E. Butz – 1912.” The Appraisal Breakdown: The Medium: Fine layered charcoal and graphite on period paper. Notice the smooth, hand-smudged shading on her massive picture hat and the plush texture of her fur hand m**f. The Timeframe: A perfect preservation of 1912 “Gibson Girl” elegance—depicting a high-collared lace blouse and a sharply tailored Edwardian walking suit just before the looser styles of the 1920s took hold. The Regional Provenance: Local genealogical records show a couple of highly likely candidates from the historic local Butz family tree, including a Mabel Butz from the greater Easton area and a Carrie M. E. Butz who would have been exactly 20 years old when this was executed in 1912. The Background Mystery 🔎 Look closely behind the subject. There are two distinct, towering steeples reflecting over a wide expanse of water. Given the family’s deep roots here, we suspect this depicts an artist’s view looking across the river toward the early historic skylines of either Allentown or Bethlehem over a century ago. Over to the community: Do any local historians, genealogists, or family tree keepers have records of an M.E. Butz working in the fine arts at the turn of the century? Every piece in this case is real uranium glass — vaseline, canary, topaz, whatever the factory called it — and every single one got the full treatment before it got a tag. Marks under the loupe. Moulds traced back to whoever cut them. Priced off what these things actually SOLD for, not what somebody’s asking. Boyd’s Diamond-B, Rosso’s R, Summit, Mosser, Fenton, Northwood, and a few 1880s pattern-glass pieces older than all of them. Where a maker couldn’t be proven, the tag says so.

This week we’re bringing in some really special pieces — four archival Gucci bags from the 1960s and 70s, a very rare vintage Fendi bag, Ralph Lauren blazers and so much more.

Vintage has always been a big part of what we do. I’m constantly searching for pieces that stand out — beautiful craftsmanship, history, great design and things you simply don’t see everywhere.

There was such an elegance to handbags of the 60s and 70s. They were part of how a woman dressed — structured, beautifully made and full of thoughtful details.

This black and ivory Gucci is a perfect example. The horseshoe on the front is actually the clasp — turn it to the left and the bag opens. Even the handle attachments resemble horse bridle hardware, carrying Gucci’s equestrian influence throughout the design. Inside, the gold “MADE IN ITALY BY Gucci” stamp is another wonderful part of its history. I have searched and still haven’t found another in this exact design.

That’s how we curate our shops. Vintage clothing, designer pieces and beautiful decor sit right alongside historic antiques — all chosen with our customers in mind.

What makes us different? We spend the time making sure everything we sell is working as it should, whether it's audio related, cameras, watches, radios, or toys. We will take it apart, clean out old grease, relube, test components.
Some pieces take hours but we don't pass those labor hours on. We just want to make sure what you buy is in shape to do what it should when it was new, it's our reputation. Restoration is a large part of running a successful vintage / antique store. We love preservation, we love presenting a piece to you that lives on the way it was supposed to.
Thats just what we do.

[🚨 RARE LOCAL HISTORY FIND 🚨]

Look at this absolute time capsule that just hit the floor at Salvage Goods! 📚✨

This is an original 1895 "Combination" Family Bible, and it has an incredible hyper-local connection. It was published right down the road by John G. Fritsch in Allentown, PA.

If you look at old Victorian Bibles, they are almost always missing their covers or falling apart at the spine. This one? Absolutely flawless. The spine is tight, the embossed leather covers have zero cracking, and the pages look like they haven’t seen daylight in over a century.

Best of all? There is no writing inside. It’s completely blank, meaning a local family can take this 131-year-old piece of Lehigh Valley history and actually use it to start their own family registry for generations to come.
