Lynne and I had a very productive day preparing for Saturday’s ristra class.

We cleaned the high tunnel, and John built the ristra stand. Everything is coming together!

🌶️ Heads-up for our ristra class crew! 🌶️

Your finished ristra will weigh about 5–6 pounds — fresh chiles are heavier than they look! Before Saturday, pick your hanging spot and make sure the hook is up to it: a sturdy nail or screw hook works great. Skip the little stick-on hooks for this one. 😅

Can't wait to see you

Hello!

I went into the city today looking for bags of all-red chile, but found out I’m a little late in the season. I’m a native Coloradan and still finding my way here, so please be kind.

I was about to leave the chile for next season when the gal said to me, “Making ristras is like making friendship bracelets. 🥹 It doesn't matter what color they are; it’s about gathering a community of people to create something beautiful.” I felt a lump in my throat, and before I knew it, I had bags of chile in my truck.

So, let's gather to make ristras and meet new people! I'm thinking October 24 would be a good time. I’ll be offering light refreshments and the supplies needed to make your ristra. I’ll get busy and post the link for tickets.

I hope to see you soon.

Rise and shine, you lovely people! Available at while they last.

🌶️Hello everyone!🌶️

I'm excited to let you know that I would love to host a ristra-making class!

If you're interested, please leave a comment below and share with your friends. I need to gauge interest so I know how many bushels to get. We need at least six people to make the event worthwhile.

We'll be using local chilies since I don't have enough to accommodate a large group. You will take home a beautiful ristra for your porch and have a darn good time making one.

I'm thinking late October or early November. I miss having people on the farm and would love to close our season with a little fiesta.

Let me know what you think, and I'll post the details as soon as possible. 🌶️

🍁🍂 It feels like fall here on the farm. I'm loving the heirloom mums that are starting to bloom in the greenhouse. 🍂🍁

Yesterday, I was pulling plants to prepare for spring planting, and I got a bit distracted. When I reached the peppers, I decided to make a ristra for my porch. Now, the peppers will dry, and I will harvest seeds for next season.
