We have a tiny, new boss at The Red Lantern. And she has opinions about what we should be ordering for Christmas. Miss Ella stopped by yesterday and somehow Gigi’s lap turned into her very own little buying office. I did the scrolling, she did the picking. And judging by how seriously she was studying that screen, I’m pretty sure she thinks she’s officially on payroll now.

Christmas orders are going in, and our newest little buyer has a thing or two to say about them. So if you love what shows up at The Red Lantern this Christmas, you can thank Miss Ella. If you don’t, talk to Gigi. I clearly wasn’t supervising.

Well hello rainy Friday. If you’re camping or spending Labor Day weekend at the lake house, you probably need us today. Because we certainly don’t want you sitting around bored.

The boat can wait. The campfire can wait. And there are only so many card games a person can play before things get competitive.

Sounds like the perfect excuse to take a little drive, grab a coffee and wander through some of our favorite small-town shops. And while you’re out, come see us at The Red Lantern. We’ve got new fall clothes to try on, things for the house you didn’t know you needed, and plenty of reasons to stay out of the rain a little longer.

We’re really just looking out for you at this point. 😉😂

September always seems to flip a switch. Kids are back in school. Calendars are filling up. Practices, meetings, appointments, dinners, work, and suddenly we’re all trying to figure out the new rhythm again.

This is your reminder, and mine, that we don’t have to rush through all of it. Make the coffee. Sit for five extra minutes. Call your mom. Take the walk. Light the candle on a Thursday just because. Say the prayer before you start the day. Life gets busy so quickly, and sometimes the little ordinary moments are the ones we end up wishing we could have back.

So as we settle into September, I’m reminding myself to leave a little room in the schedule for the things that don’t make it onto the calendar.

Anyone else feel like September showed up FAST?

We’re still smiling after such an amazing Fall Open House, but around here we don’t sit still for long. The shop is full of fall layers, new denim, beautiful pieces for your home, gifts, and all those little things you didn’t know you needed until you walked through the door.

So cheers to September, small-town shopping, and a new season at The Red Lantern.

I know it’s Day 2 of our Fall Open House, but we have to talk about two trends you’re going to be seeing A LOT this fall, printed pants + chocolate brown. And we are here for BOTH.

This outfit is such an easy way to add a little something different to your closet without feeling like you’re trying too hard. The tiny floral print is so good, and paired with this soft neutral button cardigan, it’s the perfect mix of fun and easy. Wear the cardigan buttoned like this, layer it over a tank, add a cute jacket later…so many ways to wear it.

In the middle of a busy Fall Open House day, I looked over and caught this. Papa and Ella having their own little moment while everything was happening around them. And look at that smile in the mirror, I’d say she already has him wrapped around her little finger 😍 I’m so glad I grabbed my phone because this is The Red Lantern, too.

It’s never just been about the clothes, the décor, or what’s sitting on the shelves. It’s about family. It’s about our people showing up and jumping in. It’s about our kids and grandkids growing up behind the counter, husbands helping wherever they’re needed, Mom, my aunt and I working side by side, and all of you who have become part of our story along the way.

The Red Lantern has always been woven into our real life; the busy, the messy, the beautiful, and the little moments like this that stop you right in your tracks.

And speaking of our people, THANK YOU for an absolutely amazing Day One of our Fall Open House! You showed up. You shopped. You visited. You laughed with us. And once again, you reminded us why we love doing this so much. Every person who walked through our doors today was part of what made it such a special day. We’re tired tonight, our feet hurt, and our hearts are very, very full. But this is the good stuff. This is The Red Lantern. And we wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else. ♥️

Today is the day — our Fall Open House begins! The racks are full, the pumpkins are out, and all those little sneak peeks we’ve been teasing you with are finally ready to see in person.

We’ve poured a whole lot of work, love (and maybe a little chaos 😂) into getting ready for this weekend, and now comes our favorite part……opening the doors and sharing it with YOU.
