August–October, 1944. University of Arkansas students—young men not much different than the ones walking campus today—listed as killed in action.

They were classmates, teammates, neighbors… and then they were gone.

We remember them not just as names in print, but as lives interrupted—and sacrifices that shaped the world we live in today.

A day well spent.

Honored to have spent time with the Historic District Commission of El Dorado, sharing good food and enjoyed their company on our porch here at Maxfield’s.

We have a lot of respect for their dedication to caring for the Old Presbyterian Cemetery, honoring its history, and preserving those stories—especially today with a new Revolutionary War Soldiers headstone proudly placed.
