When planning your upcoming weekends, please keep Necessities in mind for Saturday Sept 26th where we will have local author Sara Broers signing her book “Unique Eats&Eateries of Iowa” where Necessities is featured in the pages! AND we will be serving French Toast Casserole which has been requested by several guests as well as by the author herself.
Come join in on the excitement from 9am until Noon.

As cute as a button! Hands down, I would do this craft again. What a fun night. Thank you Christy at The Country Mile for bringing this craft and loads of fun, plus a room full of friends to Necessities. We crafted into the night finding just the right spot for each stick on button ( that’s the secret 🤫…the buttons are peel & stick. So much easier 😉)
So follow along with The Country Mile and if you see this project, or any other Christy offers, I’d recommend signing up because 1.) You should make new friends, even for an evening. Maybe for life! And 2.) Even if you think.”Oh, I’m not creative. Let me tell you, you’ll discover your creativity and find it’s probably easier than you think.

Some things are delightful and some are made even more delightful by sharing the celebration with people who matter most. Sunday we had a very special bride, Anna with her family and friends who decked out Necessities to made it bloom! You could feel the love poured out in all the details. Such a beautiful engagement. All the guest left with a bouquet they created with flowers from Ostrander Flowers & Greenhouses. It was a happy heartfelt occasion.

Last week Roger from Ace Graphics & Printing Company, LLC came in with my street sign to tell me it was broken.
To be honest, it had seen better days and was hanging on by a rusted nail…..but I just kept using it.
When I went to check out my old sign, I thought, “Well, I could use it one more day “ And that’s when I noticed a much nicer sign sitting by the road to announce our opening.

Small town. Great Friends. Unexpected Kindness. And that’s what we want to grow in Eldon.

I graduated with Roger (and his wife Stacy) back in the day. (The good ones). I knew Sherry, but I have to say it. She’s…..younger. Getting to know the dynamic between Sherry and Roger has, with out question or hesitation, has been a highlight of moving back home and sharing a love for community.
