Kathy Graves gave an excellent card making class last Saturday Necessities Mercantile. If you would like to join in on this monthly activity let us know. Kathy’s next class will be on Saturday November 21st, starting at 1pm. You walk away with several cards, not all holiday. But she is teaching how to make and decorate a darling Christmas gift box. It’s a simple thing made to impress. Comment below if you would like to be apart of the next or future creative classes.

Biscuits and Gravy are on the menu at Necessities Mercantile every FRIDAY & SATURDAY. This is a small portion just for a taste but patrons enjoy a larger plate.

Tomorrow we roll out FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE and Sara Broers book Unique Eats & Eateries (featuring Necessities!!) Sara will be here to sign her book so come grab your copy and enjoy something sweet or savory.

Pawpaws and Chestnuts are available from Fox and Mare Farmstead located outside of Ottumwa. David, from the farmstead, is here on Wednesday’s with us and he can introduce you to the many things his farm has to offer. Locally grown produce, eggs, quail eggs and menagerie of animals. Come meet David. You’ll have a fascinating conversation.

Necessities has hit the pages of “Unique Eats And Eateries of Iowa” and the author, Sara Broers will be here SATURDAY to sign her book!! We’ll be bringing back the FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE to celebrate. It will be delicious😋Join us Saturday morning from 9am - Noon. We’ll keep the coffee on.

Everyone made something uniquely theirs and we had so much fun making it happen. I’m so thrilled Christy at The Country Mile packs everything into Necessities and just lets us have at it. Watch for our next event in October and don’t say, “oh I’m not creative”. Because Christy makes it so easy. At the end of the class you leave with a craft you’re happy to have created and probably a memory to go with it.
