It was definitely time for a fresh look for this sofa. The old fabric was showing signs of wear and over the years had collected a lot of grime. We transformed this one with a beautiful blue Crypton fabric that will last for many more years. The cushions were revived and we added a lot of 50/50 (poly/down blend) to the back cushions for added support. The customer had added her own throw pillows inside the covered to firm them up. We fixed that.

Another pair of club chairs wrapped up and delivered late last week. These will be paired with a set of 4 blue chairs we finished a few weeks back. These are great chairs for entertaining and will come in handy as they host family and friends this week while preparing for a wedding next weekend.

Come on down to Woofstock at the Icehouse Amphitheater in Lexington and stop by silent auction to place your bid. We will be here till 4 today, bidding stops at 3:45. There are some exciting items for both you and your 4 legged family members so be sure to look closely. I personally crafted and donated a this miniature dog sofa for the auction. All proceeds go to the Humane Society South Carolina

This chair and a half was huge! I was glad the customer bought extra fabric because I use every inch. Sometimes pictures don’t tell the whole story. Other than the size this chair was in great shape and required very little extra attention. After recovering, the cushions were reworked and the back one was fluffed and extra polyfil was added.

Club chairs are a staple in upholstery. They come in a many styles and this one will work great as a bedroom chair for when you need to get way from the noise. It was covered in a Schumacher fabric. This fabric was a little thin so I covered the inside of the chair with a white fabric to prevent anything from showing through from the padding.

It’s always a pleasure to help a local church update some of their chairs. These were covered in a herringbone fabric from Charlotte Fabrics (D2868 W**e). These Martha Washington chairs are timeless and versatile, I’m sure they will look great anywhere they put them.

I get asked often what is my favorite piece to work on? I would say channel backs are at the top of my list. They do take some skill but they are not as difficult as you would think. Especially, when you have a solid or small scale pattern that doesn’t need pattern matching. I also think they look great when finished! Let me know what you think.
