I’m Jamie, the hands, heart, and hook behind Hex & Hook Crochet.

I learned to crochet as a child from my grandmother, and years later, I returned to it during a difficult season of life. What began as a way to manage stress quickly grew into a business rooted in love, creativity, and whimsy. At Hex & Hook, I handcraft plushies and characters inspired by fantasy, folklore, and the magical world of Hexmere, a realm I created to bring even more story and meaning t

o my work. Each piece is carefully made with high-quality yarns, designed to be both durable and delightfully huggable. You’ll often find me vending at local artisan markets, designing new plushies, or writing patterns to help other makers bring magic to life with their own hooks. Whether you’re here to collect a cuddly creature or to crochet your own, I’m so glad you’ve found your way into this enchanted little corner of the fiber world.

She’s coming with us this weekend 💜

Petal Pixie has been sitting on my table all week, and I keep catching myself picking her up without even thinking about it.

She’s soft, a little whimsical, and in my minds eye I see her flitting around a magical meadow, bestowing all the flowers a little extra magic and sparkle.

We’ll be at Books & Brews at Movement Brewing Co. this Sunday from 1–4 PM if you want to meet her in person.

(And fair warning… the ones people connect with don’t usually make it to the end of the day)

Happy release day to my friend Sky at .creations ! Vixi the Magician is the second in Sky's tarot series and I just adore him! Look at those grumpy eyebrows!!!!

I chose to pay homage to the Rider-Waite card with my Vixi. The magician card represents new beginnings and manifesting your inner visions. The red robe symbolizes the passion and energy that is the lifeblood that drives the magician to create, the roses are your ideas blossoming and symbolizes success, while the Infinity symbol represents the equilibrium of opposites that the Magician requires to create.

Vixi is live now at .creations. Vixi did call in an amazingly talented group of creators, so you should definitely check out everyone's creations! Meanwhile I will be patiently waiting for the next in Sky's tarot series- I believe it will be the High Priestess, and this one should be epic!

IDon’t know about you guys, but writing the caption is always the hardest part of my creative process.
I can make the plushie, paint the eyes, decide on all the little details, take the photo, edit it… even find the perfect song.
And then I get here and… nothing. Total crickets. 🤣
I thought this one was going to be poetic and meaningful…
but what I’ve got is: I made this rose, I think she’s lovely, and somebody’s mom would probably love her for Mother’s Day 🌹

I’ve been thinking a lot about where I come from lately.
I grew up knowing only fragments…
that somewhere down the line, my great grandmother came here from Ireland, and that was the end of the story.
No lore. No handed-down magic. Just a quiet space where something should have been. So I started looking for it. I've immersed myself in the old stories of Irish mythology. Pieces of a world where nature wasn’t just background… it was alive. Where the mystical creatures that live in my mind were not just imaginary but part of the landscape.
Now I find that my makes keep ending up back here…
flower sprites, glittering magic, the good folk… things that feel like they belong just outside of our world
This little one feels like part of that…
Like it wandered out of a place I’m only just beginning to remember✨️ 🌿
