After 16 years of air-drying and careful crafting, this sycamore piece is finally going home. Harvested with help from the farm’s late owner, this gift now rests with his wife and son. I hope that whenever they touch the wood, they feel connected to his hands—the same hands that helped me lift the log all those years ago.

"Summer Grass" is a 16”w x 6”h maple wood bowl featuring a heavily textured exterior of stippling and grooved details, accented by vibrant green acrylic brushstrokes and a high-gloss lacquer finish. In contrast, the voluminous, beveled interior is finished with a food-safe, non-toxic oil—making it as functional as it is beautiful, and perfect for displaying fresh fruits or vegetables. This piece will be featured in the Artists’ Gallery “Summer Vibes” exhibition from July through September.

Honored and humbled! Our HoCo Congressional Representative, Sarah Effreth, recently recognized my wood art piece, “Together,” with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition.
While many people see the intertwined branches as a romantic piece, it’s fascinating how art speaks to everyone differently—clearly, our congressional members saw a deeper, perhaps political or community-driven meaning in it.
Art is always in the eye of the beholder. When you look at "Together," what’s your impression? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

“Together” is a sculpted hollow form, crafted from maple into a graceful horseshoe silhouette. The piece is defined by the convergence of opposing branches, symbolizing a point of unity and balance within its natural "lucky" arc.

The exterior is embellished with a stippled leaf-pattern texture, which lends a refined, tactile quality to the inherent warmth of the wood. Protected by a rich oil and lacquer finish, the sculpture sits atop a stylish custom base of black acrylic-finished Corian and steel.
