As you may know by now, our beloved soap shop is transitioning to new ownership and relocating to a new location. While today marks the last day at our current location in Great Bend, KS, we are excited for the future at our new location at the old Kimble Furniture location, 113 N. Main St, in Ellinwood, KS.
The baton is being passed to the wonderful family-owned business, Last Stop Acres, known for their farm-to-shower goat milk soaps. Founded by Kelli, Mark, and their three boys in 2021, Last Stop Acres is based in Rice County, Kansas. They are a blended family that has a passion for goats and soap making. Linda Penner, Kelli's mother who recently retired from the Kansas Wetlands Education Center, manages the soap production while the rest of the family takes care of the goats.
Their goat milk soap, which began production in March 2022, is handcrafted in small batches, with each bar being a delightful surprise in color and fragrance. They are dedicated to offering the same natural, preservative-free products that are beneficial for your skin that you have come to expect and appreciate from Artisan Soaps.
As we transition, please note that the soap shop will be pausing operations in the first week of January to allow the new owners to settle in and get things set up. The new brand will honor the legacy of The Artisan Soap Shop while incorporating the unique touches of Last Stop Acres.
From Linda: "We are very excited for the next step in our small business endeavors at Last Stop Acres. We’ve known Rebecca for a good many years; even before she got her soap business up and running. She has always put her customers first and produced a quality product. We are honored that she thought of us.
We are still in a transition process of bringing on Rebecca’s inventory, expand our inventory and establishing a storefront. We hope you are patient with this process, but we are very excited for the future and getting the opportunity to meet Rebecca’s customers. We’ll be making contact through social media and word of mouth in the coming weeks. Replacing Rebecca and Mary Jane's presence in the soap making business will not be an easy task; but we are looking forward to the challenge."
Thank you for your years of loyalty and support. Here's to a new chapter!"
With warm regards,
Linda, Kelli, Mark, Rebecca and MaryJane
