What Does Holy Thursday Represent:

The Last Supper: It primarily commemorates the final meal Jesus shared with his 12 disciples, where he instituted the Sacrament of the Eucharist (Holy Communion). During this meal, Jesus identified the bread and wine as his body and blood.

Humility and Service: Jesus performed the Washing of the Feet for his disciples, an act typically reserved for servants. This represents "servant leadership" and the call for Christians to serve others with humility.

Institution of the Priesthood: In many traditions, Holy Thursday is seen as the birth of the Christian priesthood. Jesus’ command to "do this in remembrance of me" is viewed as ordaining the apostles to continue the Eucharistic sacrifice.

Our Story

WHO WE ARE:

Established in 2009, Amish Baskets and Beyond is a family owned and operated business that prides itself on offering only Amish and handmade products that are not manufactured.

In the beginning, we were only selling Amish Baskets, but since that time, we have expanded our product offerings to include Amish hand-sewn items such as quilts, rugs, potholders, hot dish protectors, and handbags, as well as Amish made barn stars, mailboxes, wrought iron products, and candles. We also make many of our own products, such as our hanging dishtowels, where the tops are either machine sewn or crocheted, by us, right on the premises.

In March of 2016, we moved into our new store. Although we still sell on the internet, we are hoping with the opening of this new store, to be able to expand our product line even further in the future.
