The boys and I repurposed their old water tables into their own flower gardens! 🌼🌸🌷 Landon has been itching to use his new gardening tools and gloves so until we are ready to plant our veggies and fruits, we are going to learn how to care for and grow flowers! 🤗

🐰Happy Easter everyone! 🐰

I woke up today blessed to watch our two youngest in pure excitement as they discovered what the Easter bunny brought them! 🥰
After a long 2 weeks of sickness, I’m ready to finally celebrate today with the ones who mean the most.
(Missing our oldest son, as he’s spending April break with family in South Carolina! 🤩☀️🌊)

Hi there 👋🏻

Springtime is always a struggle for me due to suffering from sinus pressure migraines 🤕
On top of that, my family and I have we decided to explore more into homeschooling/ “unschooling” our three boys.📚🐝🌿
I thought I could share with you how we plan on to unschool them. I have decided to mix a few different style curriculums to fit our families needs with educating them.
We will be basing our ciriculum lessons around the therories taught by Montessori, Charlotte mason, and unschooling methods of learning. 📖🧠🌿

Montessori theory is based on observing a child and focus on where they are developmentally and academically instead of grouping them by age. Child- lead learning theory where they choose what they want to learn with hands on lessons/activities.

Charlotte mason theory is to encourage kids to develop a love for reading on their own. The thought is, if a child loves reading to learn, they will choose their own books to explore new ideas.

Unschooling is basically taking any idea of traditional schooling and rewiring your brain on what you think “school” is. Your classroom can be anywhere you’d like it to be. Your lessons and work can be decided together as a family. They can learn everyday life skills and responsibilities while following state guidelines for all subjects taught in school settings.
The world is your classroom, explore it and utilize the flexibility of being able to make any lesson a fun real life experience.

All kids learn by doing and most public settings can take these benefits skills with structured lessons inside 8 hours a day. I am certainly not here to judge anyone’s choices on how they choose to educate their child. I’d just like to share our journey and how we plan for our kids to learn.

I’m both excited and nervous for this new chapter!
Within the next few weeks I will be posting bins we create as well as what we’ve been learning and how we do it.

They just recently took it off Netflix but I believe it’s on Hulu now.

Hands down the best TV show and it makes me laugh no matter what.

✨Easter sensory bin for littles under 24 months✨

I had a customer reach out to me asking what type of sensory activity could I make for her daughter who is under the age of 2.
She told me her daughter puts everything in her mouth so with that in mind, I came up with some simpler sensory items to fit the needs of her daughter.

Thinking she may still try and put some items in her mouth, I stuck some together with glue and some in closed containers.
Instead of using the lids that came with the cups, I put two cups together and glued them together to seal them then decorated around the middle with Easter ribbon.
One is filled with colored rice and sparkles, the other is with Easter confetti.

She can still explore these small items and without the worry of her putting anything unsafe in her mouth!

✨Benefits of sensory play✨

Sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity. This helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills. 🧠💫

Sensory play doesn’t always look the same and many day to day activities we do are considered sensory related play. Here’s a few different examples of everyday free sensory ideas to incorporate into a learning experience with your littles.

👃🏽🌹Smelling flowers.
👀🚶🏻‍♀️Going for a walk/run.
👂🏻🎶Listening to music.
✋🏼🤗Giving a hug.

These different examples of sensory experiences will give your child and you new things to learn and talk about together. Important lifelong development skills with meaningful experiences for the whole family to enjoy together. 🥰
