It's National Donut Day! Do you like donuts? Do you have a favorite kind? Maple Bars, Glazed or Cream filled? My favorite (if I could eat them) would be the Old Fashioned Buttermilk! I can't eat gluten, but I've been know to cheat just to take a tiny bite of one of these donuts. Cal's Donuts in Santa Clara are the BEST, so if you want to celebrate this day, it's the only place to go!

Last week ended with two trip to the ER to getting my father-in-law home from a three day hospital stay for blood clots to this week beginning with taking my Mom to the ER for shingles and I will end this week with a Celebration of Life for our dear friend, Jesse. All of these people have taken my priority in my life over working in my craft room and at night I'm just too tired to even go into my crafty space. So, you won't hear much from me this week or maybe even the beginning of next week. I just haven't had time to create anything new for you, but I'll be back at some point.

Last week a young man wondered into the church long after church services had ended and while we we setting up for a wedding. He had his friends drive by the church so he could ask for a bible. We were happy to give him one and then he asked us all this question, "If this book never existed, how would we know there was a God? My husbands answer "Just look around, He's everywhere!" The attributes of an invisible God are clearly visible all around us through nature. Maybe this is why I love being outside surrounded by all of God's beautiful creations!

You asked, here it is! The instructions on how to make one of these fun little Hershey Nugget boxes to hold two nuggets. Yes, Deborah I took your box apart, but I promise I put it back together again!

The instruction sheet with all the measurements is the 8th picture in the series of pictures.
Cut and score all your pieces the follow these steps
Step 1: Create the box base or "tube" using the top "box" piece.
Step 2: Wrap the box base with the piece labeled "box wrap" putting glue only on the first and third section. You can see in the picture where the glue tabs are. Leave one end of the "box tube" open and the final large section will "close" the box.
Step 3: Create the "belly band" and then wrap it around the box piece. Adhere ends the ends where they meet in the back of the belly band.
Step 4: Decorate the front of the box as you like.

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you're super far behind on everything? You know you should buckle down to check things off the list, but then you get a new box of goodies from Stampin'Up!? I got my July pre-order box a couple of days ago and I couldn't wait to play, so a Christmas card in May happened! Aren't these little animals SO cute!

Each of us have our own acts of kindness to give. For me, I like to give hand made cards to people, for a gentleman in the neighborhood of New Hope College it's roses. He dropped this beautiful bunch of flowers to the church office and said please give these to anyone that would like them. Such a small gesture but what a huge blessing to everyone that got to take one or two of them home to enjoy!

At my last class, one of my sweet customers made this little treat box for me. It's just the right size to hold two chocolate nuggets. What a really nice surprise!

I might have to carefully examine it to make a pattern. What do think? Would you like to know how to make these?
