Next Saturday, the 600 block of F Street shuts down for the day.

The 2nd Annual Block Party on F runs August 1st from 3 to 9pm, filling the street between 6th and 7th, right outside the Eureka Theater and the Morris Graves Museum of Art. It's a free, family-friendly celebration built around community health through art and culture, with live music, food, drinks, local vendors, and activities for all ages.

The day opens at 3pm with a Buddhist candle ceremony, then rolls straight into music: Goodshield Aguilar and 7th Generation Rise from 3 to 4:30, the Loud Neighbors Brass Band from 4:30 to 6, fire spinning from Movement as Medicine and the Spellbound Fire Troupe through the evening, and Papa Haole and the Fleas closing it out with upbeat calypso from 7 to 9.

It also lands on Arts Alive weekend, so if you're already downtown for the first Saturday gallery loop from 6 to 9pm, the two run right into each other. A good excuse to spend the whole evening on foot.
