Sleepy little forest and fox custom piece going home this week…. And an inspiration for more glowing nighttime constellation work to come! ⭐️

I’m spinning up more starry skies (and several other new ideas that I’ve been working on these last few months) for my next in person event at the Rittenhouse Square Mother’s Day weekend fine craft show - May 8, 9, and 10!

It’s been a bit of a different holiday season for us. This is the 3rd year in a row that we haven’t sent out Xmas cards…. We just haven’t been able to get it together.

We said goodbye to our 14.5 year old Sundae a few weeks ago. I am so thankful to have had her sass and snuggles (in that order!) for as long as we did, and at no point did she ever look like, act like, or even pretend to be an older lady. She clearly loved life and her daily presence and palpable joy is very sorely missed.

My wish for 2026 if that it is comfortable, quiet, and gentle with us. I am looking forward to nurturing family connections, reviving my creative mojo, and perhaps taking a trip to far off lands (or maybe just the lake) to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.

Merry and Happy everything to everyone…. ❤️

Working on a quartet of custom Hoopoe (Hoopoes? Hoopi? Who knows?) today. My eyes nearly fell out of my head when I caught a glimpse of my first Hoopoe (made ever the more special with the Pyramids of Giza in the background)….

I love this weird looking dude sitting on an olive branch…. I sculpted his head from clay and made a freeze and fuse mold in which I tinkered with shading in powdered glass and I’m seriously pleased with the patterned feathers I fused for this guy’s beautiful back!

The whole time I worked on these I had to keep referring back to actual photos, second guessing my design and thinking, “are they REALLY this strange looking?” And the answer is, yes. Yes, they are. 😆 All glass used, both powder and sheet, was

Shopping Small Business makes a whole lot of difference for all your favorite artists going into this Holiday season…. And gifting a carefully crafted handmade item is meaningful for so many more than just the gift recipient! 🙏

The link to my webshop is in my bio, and keep in mind that the deadline to order Ready to Ship items is 12/18; everything else is made to order and orders should be placed no later than 12/11. As always, earlier is better, since shipment timing is out of my hands after a package leaves my shop!

I just realized I haven’t posted since June. 🫣

I do have a good excuse though…. My side hustle (pearl knotting and stringing for ) has collided with my daily gig of glassy geekery!

What feels like ages ago (😬), Nelson Coleman Jewelers contracted me to fill the top windows of their Frederick, MD showroom with stained glass. I’ve designed and created a total of 4 large gemstones (to be featured in future posts) and this Coleman family crest is the finishing touch which will hang in the center of it all.

Since I’m still rather new to fusing glass in a kiln but had definite ideas of how crisp and precise I wanted the lines and shading in my project to be, I have spent the summer in trial and (so much) error learning how to create and use powder wafers, all with .

…to say I’m ridiculously excited about all I’ve learned and how this crest has taken shape is an understatement!

More images, progress, (and maybe some video) to follow…. ❤️
