As we close out our 10 year anniversary of the shop this month, we’re shining the spotlight on the woman who has been behind it all. 🤍
Ten years ago, in August of 2016, Julie took a leap and purchased the business and began the journey of turning it into what we know today as Tuveson’s Architectural Consignment.
But Julie’s love for antiques and unique finds started long before she ever imagined owning an antique business of her own.
Long before there was a shop to fill, there was a lifelong love of the hunt. Most weekends, you could find Julie wandering through antique stores, thrifting, or stopping by an estate or yard sale, always on the lookout for a good find. She has always loved discovering something special and finding just the right place for it, especially when decorating her own home.
Julie already knew she loved being a business owner, because in 2004 she had purchased and operated Here We Grow Again and Garage Mahal, a similar type of consignment business. After selling it a few years later, she continued following her love of antiques through booths in antique malls, where she loved finding and showcasing unique pieces.
So when the opportunity to have an antique storefront of her own came along, it felt like the right fit. Julie took the leap once again, and in August of 2016, the shop became hers!
Ten years later, Tuveson’s Architectural has become so much more than a business. It’s a creative outlet, a place to share her love of antiques, and a community she is incredibly grateful to be part of.
One of Julie’s favorite parts of owning the shop is the creative freedom that comes with it. She loves taking the unique pieces that come through the doors and finding unexpected ways to style them, changing displays and moving things around, and of course decorating the shop for the holidays.
Over the years, Julie has also had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, hear their stories, and learn the history behind the pieces that come through the shop. She loves researching the pieces that come through the doors and discovering the stories behind them, and she’s learned so much along the way.
What started as a passion and love for antiques has grown into 10 years of Tuveson’s, and Julie is incredibly grateful for every customer, consignor, friend, and familiar face who has been part of the journey.
Here’s to 10 years of Tuveson’s Architectural Consignment, countless treasures found, stories shared, and many more memories to come. 🤍
