Sue Falls Design Studio

Sue Falls Design Studio When you transform your home, you transform your life. The details of what makes a house a home have intrigued me for as long as I can remember.

As your interior designer, we’ll work together to help you fall back in love with your home by creating unique, customized areas to live, work, and play. One of my favorite childhood pastimes was imagining the inside of different style homes and wondering how people lived in them—what the furniture looked like, whether the walls were wallpapered or painted, if the style was traditional or modern, and how their surroundings reflected their personalities and lives.

An exciting upgrade for this vanity bench that complements the elements in this sophisticated master bedroom… going from traditional damask fabric, rope trim, and skirting… to taupe faux leather with detailed stitching and wrapped legs. Thanks to KC’s Drapery and Blind Design in Falmouth.

I love sourcing items for my clients from local artists, and supporting businesses here on the cape. I found this incredible gallery yesterday in Wellfleet Harbor, “The Frying Pan Gallery”, featuring these unique and beautiful metal wall sculptures, light fixtures, and other things handmade by Steve Swain. Check out the wild wall sculptures and the adorable fish hooks. Let me know if you need these in your life and I can make it happen. 🐟🦈

Goals were to balance out the asymmetry of the firebox and to make this fireplace a wow accent wall in this double height Living Room. Special elements include: large scale dark textured wall tile, thick cantilevered marble shelf with mitered corners supported by a steel bar, matching marble flush hearth (replacing the raised one), stunning modernist Murano polyhedral sconces (that’s a mouthful 😅), and a fresh coat of black paint inside the firebox. What do you think of this transformation?

Going to the stone supplier to select slab countertops is one of my favorite things to do with a client. Today, we narrowed the options down to the first two images. Both mimic versions of the natural marble, Calacatta, with it’s rich dramatic warm and cool colored veining on a soft white background. What I love about them is that they combine warm and cool colors that are naturally found on the real marble. These engineered stones look so much like the real thing but are much more durable. With the porcelain (first pic) you can even put a burning hot pan on it!!
Option 1 is a porcelain, 2 cm
Option 2 is an engineered quartz, 3 cm
The others just happened to strike my fancy.
What stone appeals to you?

Here’s a sneak peak of two tight joint, marble mosaic tile floors we’re using for two different Powder Rooms for my Orleans project. One is a deconstructed geometric and the other is very orderly. Both will be stunning focal points for these rooms. Lot’s of construction underway so more to come...

Here is a fireplace wall transformation, almost complete. We chose a porcelain tile with an understated organic texture and neutral colors, to accent that end of the large open room, and hung the mirror horizontally to reflect the breathtaking view.
