The Michelin Star...

One of the highest accolades a restaurant can receive.

During my career, I've had the privilege and opportunity to work for no less than 3 Michelin Star chefs; Livio Massignani, Jose Garces, and Rick Tramonto. Under their service and guidance, I was exposed to various cuisine styles from different regions of the world and grilled on the perfections of taste and presentation.

Surprisingly, I've never had the privilege of being served in a Michelin Star restaurant for myself until last night. I finally got the chance to be on the other side of it all at Vestry NYC in SOHO and the experience was no less than PHENOMENAL! This year Vestry was a awarded a coveted Michelin Star and I was excited to experience their cuisine firsthand!

To start we began with the Nori Chips with Salmon and Tobiko. We then proceeded on to the main course and while my wife dined on the Atlantic Salmon with Carmelized Onion Rice and Koji, I savored the Australian Wagyu Beef with Potato Puree and Miso-Mustard!

We learned a fun fact that the cows are given beer and are massaged daily for this perfect loin of beef!

They're living much better than any of us! 😆

To end, we had delectable desserts of Homemade Cheesecake with Honeycrisp Apple and Navel Orange with Blood Orange Panacota.

It was tre magnifique!!

Seeing the service from the other side was a wonderful and insightful experience!

It inspires me to continue providing a unique and extraordinary experience through 7 Myles Craft Dining that I hope many will take the opportunity to enjoy.

I remember when my father would tell me about times he would go the street vendors in Connecticut to get a local snack in a small paper bag called Pernil. I had no idea of what that was.

While visiting family in New York I got to experience this food adventure and finally know why this dish is so delicious. From Puerto Rico, to the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Columbia, this is one common dish amongst the Afro Latin community. The satisfaction of the crunchy skin, the flavor of Dominican oregano, and the balancing of fresh squeezed lime juice right over the Pernil and the Tostones will make your mouth water😋. This was all complimented with the Arros con Gandules Verdes (Rice with Pigeon Peas) and Salada de Pepino Tomate ( Cucumber and Tomato Salad.
