DID YOU KNOW? Estate Sales ARE Allowed at Amelia Island Plantation.

For years, there has been a misconception that residents of Amelia Island Plantation cannot hold an in-home estate sale—or that the only type of estate sale allowed is one conducted by appointment only.

That is not the case.

Since the beginning of this year, The Resale Project has successfully conducted three in-home estate sales inside Amelia Island Plantation.

These sales are considered **private estate sales**, but we want to clarify what “private” actually means.

Private does NOT mean by appointment only.

A private estate sale can have scheduled sale days and hours, and customers may attend during those hours without making individual appointments.

The “private” part refers to controlled access into the gated community. There are specific procedures that must be followed for customer entry, along with requirements for signage, parking and how the sale is conducted.

The Resale Project understands this process and has successfully worked within these requirements to conduct estate sales while respecting the privacy and standards of the Plantation community.

So, if you are an Amelia Island Plantation resident and have been told that you cannot have an in-home estate sale—or that your sale must be by appointment only—you may have been given incorrect information.

You can have a professionally managed, multi-day estate sale right in your home without requiring individual appointments.

The Resale Project knows how to handle the process from beginning to end.

Thank you all so very much for coming to our estate sale! What an amazing turnout and such a fun three days. The sale was a huge success, with very few things left behind.

We truly love seeing so many familiar faces—and meeting new ones too. You all make these sales so much fun, and we appreciate you more than you know.

IMPORTANT GATE INFORMATION

Because Amelia Island Plantation is a gated community, please use the following address in your GPS to reach the main staffed entrance:

11 Beach Lagoon Road, FB
Estate address is
Mr. & Mrs. Scalia
5 Red Cedar Rd, FB

Once you arrive at the main gate, simply let the attendant know you are attending the PRIVATE SALE of Mr. & Mrs. Scalia and provide the estate address
5 RED CEDAR RD & There is no need to be on a gate list.

Please do not GPS the estate address to enter the Plantation, as GPS may direct you to a residents-only entrance where there is no attendant.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO ESTATE SALE SIGNS anywhere inside or outside Amelia Island Plantation. Please use your GPS for directions.

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION

Parking will be permitted on ONE SIDE OF THE STREET ONLY. The homeowner will be outside helping direct parking, so please follow his instructions when you arrive.

Please do not park on anyone’s grass or block or park in a neighbor’s driveway.

Please do not park in the estate driveway. The driveway must remain open for customers picking up furniture and larger purchases.

We are very fortunate to be able to hold private estate sales within Amelia Island Plantation, and we want to be especially respectful of the neighborhood. Following these guidelines helps us keep a good relationship with the community and allows us to continue bringing you estate sales here in the future.

We know our customers are always respectful and considerate, and we truly appreciate everyone’s cooperation.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our estate sale! What an amazing turnout. There’s truly nothing like an estate sale in downtown Fernandina Beach—what great fun!

I also want to thank everyone who worked alongside me on the incredible art collection in this estate. I think I can officially add “art dealer” to the many hats I wear during an estate sale! We spent countless hours researching, identifying, and appraising the artwork, and seeing nearly every piece find a new home made all that work worthwhile.

Thank you again to everyone who came, shopped, and made these three days such a success.
