OUR FIRST LOVE ART EXHIBITION was absolutely phenomenal. We were overwhelmed with support, every artist showed up and thrived, each piece told a unique story and sparked meaningful conversations, we saw sales, connections, and memories being made - it was everything and more we hoped for! My heart is full of gratitude for this experience. I thank God for blessing me with this opportunity to express not only my love for him but other artists as well. “God is love,” according to 1 John 4:8. But what is the meaning of this unconditional love?
Paul gives us a deeper understanding in 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 (AMP): “Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].”
Human love and affection cannot be compared to God’s limitless, immeasurable love. Our version of love is often conditional, emotional, and inconsistent. But God’s love is perfect, unwavering, and eternal which is far BEYOND anything the human heart alone can produce or satisfy.

James 4:8–10 reminds us of this truth: when we draw near to God with a repentant and humble heart, He draws near to us.
Scripture calls us to turn away from sin, to purify our hearts, and to humble ourselves before the Lord and in return, He promises to lift us up and restore us. Repentance isn’t about shame; it’s about realignment. It’s choosing closeness over distance.
In my previous post, I shared how sin separates us from God. But when we truly turn from our ways and come to Him honestly, He doesn’t reject us but welcomes us with open arms. YOU JUST HAVE TO RECEIVE HIS FORGIVENESS IT BY FAITH. So often we say we’re waiting on God, when in reality, He’s been waiting on us.
It really is that simple.

You won’t always feel God’s love but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there. God loved us so much that He came down in human form as Jesus Christ and died on the cross for our sin. He took the penalty we rightfully deserved, because we were born into sin through our first parents, Adam and Eve.

Sin separates us from God.
But the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf restored communion with Him.

So even when you don’t feel it, the cross stands as proof.
Proof that His love for us is deeper than emotion, greater than understanding, and stronger than our doubt. God the Father took on a human body God the Son, died, and rose again on the third day so we would no longer be separated from God, but reconciled to Him.

"For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

This series is an invitation to remember to return to our first love. Before you were known by the world, you were known by God. Before you had a name, a purpose, or a story to tell. He had already set His love on you. Genesis 1:27 reminds us that we were created in His image. Jeremiah 1:5 tells us He knew us before we were formed. God’s love didn’t start when you got it right. It started with creation.

🚨ARTIST SPOTLIGHT : Shaquona Espinoza🚨
"God's love has impacted my life by reminding me of His presence throughout difficult seasons of my life. There were times when I felt hopeless, worried, and unsure of my worth, but through scripture, my church community and kindness from others, I felt peace. I felt love. Even when my circumstances didn't change immediately, I felt love within those moments. That reassurance made me feel seen, loved, valued and never forgotten. His love is faithful and constant. My painting reflects my love for God by honoring His creation and seeking His presence in a quiet place. The light and flowing water remind me of how God continually reaches for me, renews me, and guides me even in difficult situations. Through this piece, I see my desire to grow closer to God and his constant unconditional love towards me."

"Gods love is what sustains me. Knowing that I am known and seen by Him gives me confidence in my creative expression. When started painting three years ago, couldnt have imagined how far He would bring me artistically. Before each painting session, ask Him to anoint my eyes to see the details might miss and to guide my hands by His Spirit. His love gives me the strength to endure, even through seasons of creative uncertainty.

🚨🚨ARTIST SPOTLIGHT : Christina Cervantes🚨🚨
"Before gave my heart to Jesus, was heartbroken, felt so lost, depressed and thought I just had to sit with all those emotions and anxiety. For most of my life, I knew tradition and a head knowledge of God, but everything changed when I decided to give my heart fully to Him. That is when He became real to me. He is my Heavenly Father, best friend, healer. comforter, joy, my peace, my strength, my first love always and my everything and he wants to be yours too. He freed me from depression, loneliness, emptiness, panic attacks, and anxiety, and He embraced me with a powerful love that changed everything. Through knowing His love, I came to understand my purpose in life.
Jesus paid it all for us on the cross and resurrected so that we could be free from the condemnation of sin and have our relationship with God restored What He did for us goes far beyond words-He saved us by His mercy and grace. When I fully surrendered my life to Jesus, I truly understood that the greatest act of love was demonstrated on the cross, and that He died for you and me personally.
My art cant fully capture all of God's goodness, but each piece is created from what God ministers to my heart and to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Because of the freedom he gave us on the cross, I can't help but express my praise and worship of Jesus through art. I use flowers, nature, and vibrant colors to express the peace, joy, renewal, and beauty found in His powerful love. His presence and the fire of the Holy Spirit is so beautiful and beyond what my art can ever show. My prayer is that each piece encourages others to seek and to encounter his presence and the love Jesus has for them and to fall deeper in love with the One who loved us first, above anyone and everything The One who has a plan and a purpose for your life." 🚨🚨ARTIST SPOTLIGHT : Samaiyah McCurtis🚨🚨
"Growing up, I yearned for something deeper to feel loved and truly seen but I could not find it. I searched in many places, yet everything tried left me emptier than before. True peace came only when I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. When I realized that the love I was searching for could be found only in the Father, I clung to Him with all my heart, and I continue to do so to this day.

Creating has always been a healthy coping mechanism for me, even as a child. When surrendered my life to Christ, that surrender included my business and my art. Through this transformation, I came to understand that no longer want to create work that lacks meaning. desire to create art that glorifies the Lord.

My work is an act of worship-an offering unto God. I want each piece to invite the viewer into His presence and to reflect His love, truth, and peace. Each piece is created by God and he uses me as his. vessel. am deeply grateful for every vision He entrusts me with to bring to life."
• I am so honored to bring this experience to life. This vision God has blessed me with seemed so far-fetched but God has shined his favor & provision upon this day!! A lesson that I have been learning in this season is that obeying the Lord carries more weight than any fear that tries to get ahold of me. I can't wait to share this exhibition with my community and I pray it reflects God's love for his people leaving them with reverence, love, and peace. 🚨🚨ARTIST SPOTLIGHT : Benjamin McCurtis🚨🚨
"Benjamin McCurtis is a Metro Detroit based photographer. Born & raised in the city of Detroit, his hometown holds a great level of value to him, where from he pulls a lot of his inspiration and passion from.

From an early age Benjamin came to know Jesus. Being underneath the pastoral covering of his parents, Jesus has been a large part of his upbringing. Benjamin holds his relationship with Jesus in high regard, and credits his intimate relationship with Christ as his motivation to continue photography as a creative outlet; seeing the world the way God sees it.
• Benjamin is the only photographer in this exhibit and his piece is absolutely breathtaking with such an enlightening meaning.
