Looking back at one of the first projects where I taught myself how to properly strip and refinish furniture. These tables were a major learning experience for me.

I learned that removing years of old, orange-toned stain required a lot more patience and careful sanding than I initially expected. I eventually got them down to the raw oak grain and decided to go with a clear finish to keep the look natural. I also learned how much of a difference updated hardware can make by switching to these matte black pulls. It was a slow process, but I was glad I took the time to do it right

One of my favorite projects so far was building custom shelves for my wife’s home office. It was a bigger project than what I had tackled before, so I brought my dad in to help.

Being able to work side by side, pick up tips from him, and build something useful together made it a really fun and meaningful project. Definitely one I will always remember.

Eleven months ago, I decided to hold myself accountable by documenting my woodworking on YouTube. At the time, I had little hands on experience and a lot to learn.

Since then, the process has been challenging, rewarding, and a great learning experience. I am proud of the progress so far and excited to keep building and improving.

I'm Brian G... Welcome to Circuit & Saw! I'm documenting my woodworking process from early projects to practical tips, lessons learned, and milestones along the way.
