Barden Home Builders Barden Home Builders is Northern Arizona’s go to home remodeling specialist! We are a design/build firm that offers interior design with every project!

Call us today to start your journey! Barden Builders was formed by Aaron Richards in January of 2006. Born to a skilled carpenter and craftsman Harry Richards, Aaron aspired to be a carpenter since the first time he set foot on one of his fathers job sites at the age of 3. Aaron began working in the residential construction trades in 2000 out of high school while attending college for a degree in construction management. After college, Aaron worked for local construction companies as a framer, leadman, and eventually supervisor before starting Barden Home Builders in 2006. He has also spent 2 years in a hands-on appenticeship program with San Juan Constructors. The name Barden comes from a long family history on the east coast. Aarons great-great-grandfather founded Bardens Boat Yard in 1927 and the business continues to operate to this day. Jane MacDonald, grand daughter of boat yard founder Fred Barden, has always supported Aarons aspirations and eventually helped him form Barden Home Builders. Since then, with the advice of his mentors, he has continued to grow and expand Barden Home Builders into a well established, small construction company. With hundreds of projects completed over the last few years, ranging in size from small custom shelving to major home additions, Barden Home Builders is capable of completing any residential construction project on time and beyond your expectations.

We recently got a 1-star review, and here's the story behind it....

A client came to us for a remodel, and we gave a preliminary range of $30-40K based on similar jobs we've done, wanting to give an honest starting point they could wrap their head around. But once we sat down and fully designed the project, pulling in every detail on fireplace, lighting, cabinets, flooring, and finishes of their choice, the real number came in at $62,000. That's a big jump, and understandably, it didn't end in a signed proposal. But we'd rather have that conversation before your home is opened up than after you're financially committed to us.

Our estimates come from experience, not guesswork.

That's exactly why we fully design every project before locking in a price.

The interiors of our connected ADU...

Designed as a compact, connected space with everything you could need covered. A full kitchenette, a bedroom opening onto the patio, and a living room built for unwinding after a day in the mountains.

The holidays have a way of making you notice when a kitchen isn't quite working: not enough island space for the cookie dough to be rolled out; not enough oven space for the turkey, the roast, and the sides all at once; not enough room for multiple cooks to be in the kitchen getting that holiday meal prepped.

If that sounds like your kitchen this upcoming season, there's no better time than now to start the conversation on a remodel.

Multiple visits, one finished home. Here's the final product on this attached ADU.

A few things set this one apart from the other ADU we've shown you: it's attached to the home, and it's bigger, a true one-bedroom with a full kitchen and living space separate from the bedroom and bathroom.

This one was designed with a specific purpose in mind: a place for the owners' college-aged kids to come home to during holidays and summers, with enough space to actually spread out and enjoy being back in Flagstaff.

Only 22 out of the 75,000 builders in the United States of America have this certification, and Flagstaff has one of them.

The National Association of Homebuilders ( ) created a new master certification for remodels and home builders last year, and Aaron participated in the inaugural class.

You know that we're passing the highest standards as set forth by the National Association of Homebuilders, and we're doing that to elevate the experience for our clients.
