🇺🇸🍪 4th of July Cookies with M&M’s 🔴⚪🔵✨
Ingredients:
2½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1½ cups red, white, and blue M&M’s
½ cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Extra M&M’s for topping
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until smooth.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
Fold in Candy: Gently stir in the M&M’s and white chocolate chips, if using.
Shape the Cookies: Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Press a few extra M&M’s onto the tops for a festive look.
Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set.
Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve: Arrange on a patriotic dessert tray and enjoy with family and friends during your Independence Day celebration.
