✨🤖 A little before & after magic for one of my favorite local projects! 🤖✨By working with what already exists, this concept introduces simple, budget-conscious improvements like, cleaning/restoring materials, adding seating, greenery, lighting, and playful details to create a welcoming extension of the toy shop experience. Design doesn't always require demolition or a big budget. Sometimes it's simply uncovering the potential already there and helping people imagine what could be. 🪻✨ If you haven't visited Tuggles Gap Wooden Toy Co. yet, consider this your sign to go! One of my favorite parts of the design process has always been exploring possibilities through imagery, color, texture, symbolism, and storytelling. Mood boards are often where a brand begins to take shape and reveal its personality.

Not every design project looks the same, and that's the beauty of creative direction. For Thrive Hive, we focused on a "Bring Your Vision to Life" Session instead of full-service interiors.

• A visual identity and logo concepts
• A color palette inspired by sunshine, honey, and mountain wildflowers
• Branding elements and graphics
• A mood board to capture the feeling of the space
• A creative direction guide to inform future decisions

✨ Why invest in conceptual work?

A clear concept acts as a roadmap before a single purchase is made. It gives you something to return to when decisions become overwhelming, budgets shift, or DIY projects evolve over time.

Whether a space comes together in six months or six years, that initial vision becomes a compass, helping every choice feel intentional and ensuring the finished space tells one beautiful story.

Ideation is some of my favorite work to do, and I can't wait to see how this sweet little café evolves. 🐝🍋🌿🍯

EDEN’S EMPORIUM /// now open at Chic's Antiques

Curated vintage shops are art galleries. They hold time, travel, and color all at once. Eden has been collecting for over 20 years, and this space is her life laid out in front of you. This was a true collaboration from the start. We shaped the concept together, worked through layout, flow, sourcing, and all the behind-the-scenes pieces to get it open. I helped guide the process, Eden brought it to life, piece by piece. The dressing room is one of my favorite parts. Built from her and her partner’s grandmothers’ blankets, layered, personal, beautiful and functional. We focused on making everything feel discovered and storied. If you find yourself in downtown Floyd, go find Eden’s Emporium at Chic’s Antiques, upstairs in the back corner. You can’t miss it. You might hear a vintage record playing, follow the sound or keep an eye out for color. Such a pleasure building this together.

ARCHIVE FIELD NOTES /// TOV

A stop that always feels like a jolt of joy. TOV Furniture brings a kind of playful irreverence to High Point that is entirely its own. Saturated color, sculptural forms, unexpected silhouettes, glossy finishes, boucle, fringe, curves, and those delightfully offbeat pieces that toe the line between furniture and art object.

Every vignette felt layered with personality, playful upholstery, surreal accents, whimsical lighting, statement pieces that don’t whisper. There is always something a little cheeky, a little glamorous, a little over the top in the best way.

I loved the conversation-starting designs and the way even the boldest pieces still felt collected through texture and styling. A reminder that luxury can have humor, and that good design can be both elevated and exuberant.

ARCHIVE FIELD NOTES /// GOLDEN OLDIES

I wish we could have lingered for hours. At High Point Furniture Market, time is always of the essence, but Golden Oldies felt like a treasure trove worth getting lost in. A true highlight of Market, something for everyone, spilling wall to wall, indoors and out, layered with history and oddities.

Shelves of timeworn books, vintage luggage stacked like stories, old globes, carved objects, patinated vessels. The kinds of pieces that make a room feel collected rather than decorated.

And on the way out, that stunning set of hand-carved bone-inlaid arched doors, flanked by intricately carved columns, stopped me in my tracks. Richly detailed, architectural, transportive. The sort of piece that blurs artifact and doorway, object and passage.
