Grindstaff's Interiors, a local family-owned company for over 80 years, is currently hiring positions for a Delivery Driver & Assistant. Employees will be responsible for assisting or driving a box truck and sprinter van for delivery and set-up of merchandise in customer's homes and our showroom, as well as opening, inspecting, and assembly of merchandise as needed.
Qualifications:
-Must have a valid NC Driver’s License with clean driving record.
-Must have experience in driving delivery vehicles (van up to 26-foot box truck).
-High-School Diploma preferred but not required.
-Must be 18 years of age.
-Must pass criminal background check prior to employment.
-Subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
-Heavy lifting required.
-Must be able to work Monday - Thursday with optional Fridays and/or Saturdays.
-Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
-Excellent customer service skills.
-Excellent time management skills.
Physical Demands:
The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including lifting heavy furniture, loading and unloading trucks, performing in home furniture deliveries, standing, bending, stooping, prolonged sitting, and repetitive motion associated with driving, offloading, installing, and assembling furniture, bedding, rugs, and accessories.
Job Description:
-Delivery and set-up of furniture in customer's home and removing old furniture when necessary.
-Complete all paperwork involved.
-Warehouse duties when not on delivery.
-Must be able to drive and operate a forklift.
-Inspect and touch up merchandise prior to loading.
