We hope you find our story as unique as the products we provide. In 2008 my husband and I became foster parents and our son became a foster brother to a beautiful 3 month old little girl. Fast forward to 2014 where we closed that chapter in our lives after adopting that little girl and three other children. That road provided an experience unlike no other that will forever allow us the strength an
d courage to believe that dreams do come true. I have been blessed to be a stay-at-home mom with these children for the past seven years. The memories my children and I have shared and the opportunities we have encountered together is solely due to my hardworking husband. I came to him with this idea and he has been more than supportive in my quest to create You Make Scents Candles. You see, as much as I love being a mom and wife, there was still a yearning calling me to do more. With that, I began mapping out what was going to make us stand out in the candle industry. Our brand is a little different. We want to cater to you, our customer. Have you ever gone into a store to purchase the perfect candle for yourself or someone special, but couldn't find exactly what you were looking for? Maybe the perfect color, but the wrong scent? Maybe the perfect scent but the color wouldn't work? That is where we come in. We want to ensure you receive the highest quality candle in the color, scent, and vessel of your choice. Our candles are hand poured from all -atural wax. You may even notice slight imperfections of frosting or dips in the top of your candle. Rest assured, that means it is all natural. Our most special line is our Memories Line. This line is designed to be personalized to capture a special day. Each time your candle is lit, the memories will come back to life. Sometimes just a certain smell brings back such a sweet memory or special place. Maybe you want to create a special moment for a certain someone, with a specific scent for a future memory. Our candles and personalization can capture that for you. We began our company as a family with the help of our three girls. Together we have grown our business into the success that it is today. You Make Scents Candles is giving back a portion of it's proceeds to the foster care program in the form of "Go Bags". When our children were first placed with us, they arrived with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. That is so true of so many children who are pulled from their homes due to abuse and neglect. Our mission is to provide these "Go Bags" to children and help ease the transition for both the child and the foster families. Items in these bags may include diapers, formula, toys, books, blankets, stuffies, clothing and snacks. We know an idea like this would have helped us tremendously in those first few hours together. Our hope is that we can offer this small gesture to others. Together we can make their darkest day a little brighter.
