I’ve been a little quiet, and didn’t make my normal morning post yesterday and this is the reason why.

This little casket spray is one that will absolutely crush your heart and bring tears to your eyes the entire time you’re making it. These are the ones no one should ever have to make. This is the part of my job when I say the tears are behind the scenes.

This little spray is for a precious baby boy. His family requested blue, green, and yellow to match the beautiful outfit his grandma had made especially for him. 💙💚💛

There are some things in life we may never understand, and this is certainly one of them.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, my heart is with this family. My prayers, my hugs, and my everything are with them right now.

I don’t personally know this family, but that doesn’t mean I don’t feel their pain. If you see this, please stop for just a moment and say a prayer for them. They need every prayer, every bit of love, and every ounce of strength we can surround them with right now.

Sometimes flowers are more than flowers. Sometimes they are the only way we know how to say, “I’m here. I’m praying for you. I’m so very sorry.”
💙💚💛

A heart pillow casket insert to match the red rose casket spray ❤️

Many prayers for this family, and she must have been so deeply loved, I had 11 big pieces going to her service this morning. Thankful and blessed to be able to create all of them with love

I absolutely love the multi color in this standing spray. The Grandson who ordered it from his family asked his children what colors they wanted, this is what they came up with. ❤️ We talked through adding 6 red roses to represent each one in their family. (Husband, Wife, and 4 Children) 🌹

Excuse all the stems to the left, this is what designers do, just let it go when you clip the flowers

There are so many things I do for families behind the scenes that I don’t share on Facebook. Not because I don’t want you to know, but because I’ve never done this for the glory. I do it because of the love I have in my heart for the families on the other end of my flowers. ❤️

Today, someone called me a true servant, and those words spoke straight to my heart. Those are words I will carry with me forever.
When you work in sympathy flowers, your heart has to be in it. Truly in it. My goal has never been just to make something beautiful. My goal is to create something special for a family during one of the hardest times in their lives.

A lot of families never get to meet me. Sometimes I don’t get to meet them either. But I get the incredible honor of telling a little piece of their story through flowers. You all see a lot of my creations here on Facebook, but what you don’t always see is everything that happens behind the scenes. The conversations, the details, the late nights, the early mornings, the prayers, and the heart that goes into making sure that family gets something truly special.

And I praise God every single day for blessing me with what you guys call a “true talent.” Because truthfully, I never knew I had it.

Here’s something many of you don’t know…
I created the flowers for my granddaddy’s service in February of 2017.
I had never done flower arrangements before. I just knew I wanted to make something special for him.

Everyone who visited our family at the funeral home wanted to know who had done the flowers. When they found out it was me, I heard the same thing over and over…

“You missed your calling.”

Well, maybe God was already working on a plan I couldn’t see yet. ❤️

Because in September of that same year, I became the new owner of one of Lynchburg’s oldest flower shops.

Never in a million years did I think this would be my path.

ME? A florist? A business owner? Creating flowers for families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives?

But God knew.
He put me here.
He put me here to serve these families. He put me here to be a true servant. He gave me a talent I didn’t even know I had and then opened a door I never could have imagined walking through.

And through all these years, I’ve learned that this business is about so much more than flowers.

It’s about people.

It’s about families.

It’s about being there when they need someone.

It’s about listening to what they want their loved one’s flowers to say when words just aren’t enough.

And sometimes it’s about doing things behind the scenes that nobody ever knows about. Things I don’t post. Things I don’t talk about. Things I simply do because my heart tells me it’s the right thing to do.

I don’t need recognition for those things.
Knowing that I helped a family, even in the smallest way, is enough for me.

So when someone called me a true servant today, it hit differently.
Because if that is how people see me, then I know God has me exactly where He intended me to be.

I am forever thankful.

Thankful for every family who has trusted me.

Thankful for every funeral home that has trusted me with their families.

Thankful for every customer who has supported Kathryn’s.

Thankful for every person who has shared a post, liked a picture, recommended me, encouraged me, prayed for me, or simply told me, “You did a beautiful job.”

And most of all, I’m thankful to God for taking a girl who never planned on becoming a florist and placing her exactly where she needed to be.

You guys see the flowers.

God sees the heart behind them.

And I hope I never lose sight of why I started.
To serve.
To create.
To love people through flowers.

And to give every family the very best piece of my heart that I possibly can.

Thank you all for continuing to walk this journey with me. Your love and support mean more than you will ever know. ❤️

And if being a true servant is what God has called me to be, then I’ll wear those words proudly for the rest of my life.

Good Saturday morning, my beautiful followers! ❤️🌿
Just a little reminder that the sale at the shop is happening TODAY from 10–2! I sure hope to see some of y’all there! Come shop, say hey, and help me clear this place out! 😉

Now, I wanted y’all to see this gorgeous all-white vase with greenery. 🤍🌿 But I also decided to let you see a little behind the scenes this morning… including the bloopers. 😂

Because let me tell y’all… sometimes those bloopers are enough to bring a designer to TEARS! 😭😂 Things don’t always go perfectly, and sometimes you literally have to pick up the pieces and start again.

You all usually only see the finished beauty, but
there’s a whole lot that happens behind the scenes to get it there. This morning, I’m quite literally picking up the pieces and creating a new piece. 💐

And honestly, that’s just part of being a florist. We fix it, fluff it, fuss over it, and somehow make it beautiful in the end. ❤️

As always, my thoughts and prayers are with this family. It is truly an honor to be trusted with these final tributes.

Here’s to a Saturday full of flowers, a little laughter, a few bloopers, and hopefully A LOT of beautiful creations. 🌿🤍

Welcome to Saturday, y’all! ☀️🌸

Also shout out to my amazing husband for being there just getting off work himself making sure I was ok and gave me the hug I so desperately needed this morning ❤️

Popped up on my memories from 2 years ago, an incredible piece I was lucky to create, and seeing so many puzzles she had made after her diagnoses is something I will carry with me forever 💜 Lewy Body Dementia is a very very hard thing to watch. Some very special people in our lives have been affected by this disease, and the world lost a great man several weeks ago who fought this for 6 years. Chief Jerry Womack was diagnosed, and watching his story unfold, the love and devotion his wife gave to his care all the way through, was something we would all want if faced with something so hard. She meant her vows in sickness and in health, and she showed it to the very end. She is brave, strong woman and devoted the last 6 years to caring for him. I couldn’t help when I saw this in my memories to share it with you guys and share how this disease affects more people than we know.
