My first star quilt squares! I’m really proud of how they came out and I’ve learned a LOT already, I’m excited to be better at quilting so I can have the results I’m looking for (crisp crisp crisp corners). I got a great book from the library called “the easy guide to machine quilting” by Carolyn Forster which makes it so easy and accessible to make flying geese and then put them in use in a quilt block. I also picked up “the quilting book” by Christina West and Kacey Crutchfield which will also need a copy of- it’s basically going to be my quilting bible.
I know the old rotary cutter still has the wheel i bought it with (8 years ago when i bought my sewing machine) so i definitely need to get new rotary wheels, that will help with making sure my cuts are more precise and accurate.
I am going to need to do a quilting supply haul soon so i can be more prepared going forward, i don’t know where i will be able to get all of my notions. (Yes I do, unfortunately I will probably go to Walmart because their selection is far better than Michael’s) (I miss my Joann’s Notions Aisle 😭)
Anyway, I’m pausing on my quilting for at least this week since I am so low on notions and may have to pause for the holidays but I will likely find ways to keep quilting. I need more solid background fabrics as well since I have a lot of scraps but nothing big enough to start more flying geese with. I’ll also happily accept quilting donations, such as leftover or unused cotton fabric, batting or other supplies.

Turns out I really love quilting. Picked up some fabric from my parents house yesterday and I’m really enjoying the stars. I need to get more light colored background fabric for my stars so I can make more!!
