Progress Pics! This thoughtful ranch expansion is rooted in craft, tuned to the land, and oriented to the Front Range, with a windmill marking arrival. This addition includes guestrooms and outdoor gathering spaces and will add to the vibrant nature of the property.

Expressed timber, refined detailing, and calibrated openings frame long, intentional sightlines, while fireplaces, patios, and outdoor rooms extend the architecture into the landscape.

As VFLA Architecture + Interiors celebrates 40 years of design, we’re rolling back the reel to revisit projects that helped shape the communities we call home.

Today’s look back: The Cortina – 224 Canyon Ave, Fort Collins.

Completed in 2004, this six-story residential building brought a distinctive Spanish-inspired architectural style to the edge of Old Town. Designed with 22 condominium units, the structure blends stone, stucco, and concrete to create a warm, textured façade that still stands out in the 80521 neighborhood today.

More than two decades later, The Cortina remains part of the evolving fabric of downtown Fort Collins—one of many projects in VFLA’s 40-year story of designing places where people live, work, and connect. See VFLA.com/Press for more history and projects.

40 Years. Countless Stories. Still designing forward.

A historic home, fully reimagined.

For this full renovation + addition by VFLA, every decision centered on craft, high-end detailing layered into every room. Marble surfaces, rich walnut, and custom ceilings + cabinetry come together in a way that feels timeless, warm, and intentional.

Because on a home like this, the difference is always in the details.

Watch it unfold! VFLA Architecture + Interiors transforms a hand sketch into a bold conceptual vision for 300 Mountain in Downtown Fort Collins. This modern take respects the historic fabric of the Downtown District while introducing warm copper tones, masonry textures, and a signature curved parapet that brings movement to the corner.

Located next to the iconic Armory Building, 300 Mountain strengthens the energy of Old Town Fort Collins—enhancing walkability, activating storefronts, and connecting past and future through thoughtful, site-specific architecture.

In July of 1999, shovels hit the ground and a new chapter began.

As we celebrate 40 years of VFLA Architecture + Interiors, we’re honoring the places that housed our ideas, our team, and the early momentum that carried us forward. That summer marked the groundbreaking of 401 W Mountain, where VFLA had its office at the southwest corner of Mountain and Meldrum in Fort Collins.

More than 25 years later, you can cruise by and see this one-of-a-kind building — distinctive and part of our history.

Transforming a long-standing building on historic Mountain Avenue into a vibrant, multi-tenant destination, 160 Mountain will be a 18,000 SF adaptive re-use renovation in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins. After more than 50 years as a single-tenant law office, the project repositions the property to better engage with the community, adding new patios along the alley for outdoor gathering spaces, as well as a visible Mason Street entry—strengthening its connection to the neighborhood and enhancing the pedestrian experience. The design restores natural lighting by reopening concealed glass and a carefully refurbished ornate cornice brings craftsmanship and character back to this iconic corridor in Colorado. VFLA is excited to be part of this next chapter for the building.

We love sharing one of our clients' favorite moments: when design plans begin to take shape in the real world—when drawings become tangible, materials and details come together, and a once-dreamt house starts to look like their future home.

At VFLA Architecture + Interiors, residential design is about more than creating a structure. It’s about crafting a living environment that is personal, intentional, and tailored to the people that will create memories there.

Thank you to those that attended our Toys for Tots Toy Drive!

On an unseasonably warm evening, our community came together and nearly filled five giant donation boxes with 100+ gifts.

We are truly grateful for the generosity shown by everyone who participated. There’s still time to make a difference — we’re collecting unwrapped toys for kids in need through December 19th.

Thank you for helping spread joy this season!
