⭐️ Countertop Day! Very happy with the Circo White Extra Honed marble in the kitchen and Carrara Mist Quartz in powder and laundry rooms. Tomorrow plumbing, electrical and backsplash starts!

💻 Met with my countertop fabricator today to lay out the Circo White Extra Honed Marble slabs for the kitchen. Whenever you select a natural stone, layout is critical so the movement and pattern of the stone aligns along the seams. Shout out to Daryl at Palmetto Marble & Granite for always taking good care of me.

Day 2 of week 2 and cabinet boxes are in! Outstanding work by Mandy and Dave Carpentry LLC. Countertop template is tomorrow, along with painting and some HVAC work. Range hood is back in the shop for a 10” shave so tall people don’t hit their heads. Kudos to Kruft Contracting for keeping everything moving!

4) Phase one of kitchen demo
5) Kitchen presentation done

🔨 I’m a traditionalist at heart, so the kitchen selections I made are timeless with a modern edge. Creamy white cabinets will have gold hardware and stained mullions on the glass doors. The Brazilian marble I landed on is a gorgeous yet family friendly selection since it’s 85% dolomite. As much as I salivated over European ranges, I needed something kid-friendly since my girls like to cook. Cafe makes a beautiful 48” range with a griddle that will be put to good use! What’s your favorite element?

🔨 Custom Cabinet Design: I spent months playing with different layout options. By the time I met with Mandy and Dave Carpentry LLC, I had settled on what you see here. Cabinets will all go to the ceiling and tie into crown molding. This will really help the small space feel larger.

Hood design was the hardest decision, but I’ve decided on a transitional style (see pics) that will pair back nicely to the more traditional cabinetry creating the perfect balance.

We’ve also designed a custom built-in for the eating area which will add much needed storage and counter space in this small kitchen. Inspo image is attached.

📣 Exciting Announcement! After years of remodeling kitchens for clients, Heather at HB Interiors is finally getting to transform her own! Demo starts in a few weeks, so here’s a look at the before pictures with insight into what changes will be made.

The primary goal of this remodel is to increase counter space within a small footprint. Taking out a wall to open up the space wasn’t an option because a) that would eliminate too much upper counter space that couldn’t be made up elsewhere and b) the family loves the open yet separate flow the current kitchen provides along with the functionality of adjacent rooms they didn’t want to change.

All new custom cabinetry, countertops, appliances, fixtures and hardware have been selected and will be shared over the next few weeks.

📸 Progress Pics of a major kitchen upgrade! We switched out the dusty stainless steel hood for a sleek sloped hood from Hoodsly, new countertops from Palmetto Marble & Granite, tile from Daltile, and beverage center cabinets from Custom Features Inc. Cabinets got a fresh look from Carolina Home Fine Finishes.
