Americana Coins & Currency, LLC

Formerly known as Southwest Florida Gold and Silver, Coins and Currency (SWFLGSCC), Americana Coins & Currency was founded through auction sales in 2000 and proudly operates out of Southwest Florida. With over 40 years of personal collecting experience, my passion has always been rooted in educating others about personal wealth, history, and the joy of collecting. As a retired U.S. Navy veteran, I’ve naturally developed extensive knowledge in both U.S. and foreign coins and currency, which has grown into a broader appreciation for Americana items. Today, we specialize in buying and selling gold and silver bullion, coins, currency, stamps, jewelry, and unique Americana collectibles. We also craft and offer custom wood products that reflect a deep respect for American heritage. Looking ahead, we plan to expand into additional areas such as firearms. 🦅✨ **"Speak softly and carry a big stick!" — Theodore Roosevelt** ⚓

Did you know one of America's most legendary presidents helped transform our coins into works of art? 🪙

Today, **October 27th**, we celebrate President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt's birthday (1858) and recognize **Navy Day**, honoring his dedication to American naval strength.

Beyond the famous Great White Fleet, Roosevelt helped usher in the **Golden Age of American Coinage!** 💰

In 1904, Roosevelt criticized American coin designs as "atrociously hideous" and enlisted renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens to create something extraordinary!

🎨 **1907 $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle:** Considered one of America's most beautiful gold coins.

🪙 **1907 $10 Indian Head Eagle:** Another masterpiece that redefined American gold coinage.

🇺🇸 **A Lasting Legacy:** Roosevelt's vision helped inspire an era that brought us the Buffalo Nickel, Mercury Dime, and Walking Liberty Half Dollar.

More than a century later, these designs remain collector favorites!

At **Americana Coins & Currency**, we believe every coin tells a story, and we're here to help you discover it!

🤠⚡ **30 Seconds of Gunfire That Became an American Legend!** 🪙

On October 26, 1881, the dusty streets of Tombstone, Arizona Territory, became the setting for one of the most legendary showdowns in American history — **the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral!**

Wyatt Earp, his brothers Virgil and Morgan, and Doc Holliday faced off against members of the Clanton-McLaury faction in a confrontation that lasted roughly 30 seconds but became a defining moment of Wild West folklore.

But while the gunfight made history, the **silver and gold circulating through frontier towns tell another fascinating story!** 💰

⛏️ **Tombstone Silver:** The region's rich silver mines helped fuel the booming economy of the American West.

🪙 **Morgan Silver Dollars:** First minted in 1878, these iconic coins circulated during the era of cowboys, lawmen, miners, and frontier settlements.

💰 **Frontier Currency:** Silver coins, gold pieces, and merchant tokens helped keep saloons, general stores, and mining towns in business.

Imagine holding an 1881 Morgan Silver Dollar — a coin from the very year Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday made history!

At **Americana Coins & Currency**, we believe every coin has a story, and some take us straight back to the Wild West. 🤠

We're closed today preparing fresh inventory, but the treasure hunt begins again this Friday!
