Between the prices of food & the fact that we really don't know what we're eating anymore homesteading is become more & more a necessity for our health.

Pic 1: exterior onion peels which will be dehydrated & ground into onion powder.

Pic 2: fruit scraps & excess fruit not eaten that'll be put into the freezer until the bag is full. Once full it'll be made into compote (juice) & canned.

Pic 3: veggie scraps which will be froze until the bag is full. It'll then be boiled down with any chicken carcasses (Pic 4) that'll also be frozen until the veggies scrap bag is full to make & can homemade chicken stock.

Got a fresh pot of homemade salsa going on the stove to can.
