Our Story
Thank you for taking your time to learn a little more about who we are. We appreciate the opportunity to earn your business. I spent over 13 years as a firefighter in Williamson County. I started as a volunteer with the Williamson County Rescue Squad and in 2002 I was hired as a firefighter with the Franklin Fire Department. I spent 11 years working as a career firefighter serving the community that I grew up in. As a firefighter I worked 24 hours on duty and 48 hours off duty. I always wanted to do something on my days off where I could use my firefighter experience to better provide for my family. In 2010 my wife Beka and I started Sweeps & Ladders. As a firefighter you learn quickly that your most important job is not to put fires out, but rather prevent them from ever happening. Fire prevention starts with education. Our company motto at Sweeps & Ladders is, โ We promote fire prevention through education and routine maintenance of fireplaces and chimney venting systems while providing warmth, comfort and peace of mind to all of our customers.โ Our objective is to ensure that we take the time to educate our customers about their systems and how to properly operate them. Our business grew over the years and people liked our education first approach. In 2013 I made the difficult decision to leave my career as a firefighter and run Sweeps & Ladders with my wife. Leaving the fire department was a difficult decision, but I still felt like I was doing my part in keeping people safe by educating them about their fireplaces and dryer vents. We have grown and we now have a wonderful team of people that our living by our education first motto everyday. We have an amazingly talented group of people that care about educating the customer and making sure that they take the time to be a resource for everyone we do business with.
