The entry of your home sets the tone when entering your space and should be a representation of the personalities residing within it. Changing paint colors, adding paneling/veneer, or by simply updating decor, can quickly refresh your space by creating a whole new vibe and aesthetic. It is always fun to see which colors the leading paint companies believe are going to be the most popular for the calendar year.

For 2023, there are two trends that seem to stand out:
* more warm hued colors than years past, with choices of reds and orange tints.
* an emphasis on warmer neutrals: white, cream, and beige/tan.

The paint trends from the previous couple years were more grey toned and nature inspired, including shades of blues and greens. Overall it appears that people are now choosing more bright & bold color choices for their spaces.

Family heirlooms don’t have to clash with your home aesthetic. Furniture restoration and customization can bring a whole new life to your older pieces!

About 6 ago, I inherited a family heirloom china cabinet when my grandma moved into senior care living. This cabinet was originally stained a beautiful cherry brown with bronze hardware. My husband and I decided to restore this well-loved family heirloom to make it our own. We beleive that the updates made don’t change the history of the peice, but adorn it! Our family now enjoys this china cabinet just as much as my grandparents did 😊🥰

The first restoration was when we decided to re-stain the cabinet to an ebony black and swapped out the original hardware to a polished chrome (at the time it matched the style in our first apartment). Last year I decided to sand and repaint it to a bright white to match our new home. My husband helped by re-enforcing the wobbly legs and replaced the older, warped wood shelving.
