Blinds, Shades & Shutters
We like to refer to these products as “Furniture for Your Windows.” In addition to accentuating the architectural elements in your home, blinds, shades, and shutters provide unique functionality that increases the usability and comfort of your spaces. Privacy, light control, and style combine with the latest technologies to give you the utmost control of your window treatments. These types of treatments can range from $900–$3500 per window. We always stand behind manufacturer’s warranties and ensure professional measurement and installation for any hard window treatments we sell.

Custom Window Treatments
These are some of our favorite projects to do for customers. Drapery panels, valances, and Roman shades are such a great way to bring pattern and color into a room, and they do so much to soften the architectural details of a home and make it feel like a cozy retreat. Our prospective clients love these options but are so often surprised by the cost. With fabric, hardware, fabrication, labor, and installation, there are a lot of variables that go into the cost of custom window treatments, and it's not uncommon for these finished products to be $2000 or $3000 per window. If you are looking for custom treatments and know you are working on a budget, be sure to mention that to us right away. We’ll do our best to find the perfect options for you.

It’s no secret that everything seems more expensive these days. At Patrick Street Interiors, we are continuously met with clients who are shocked by the current cost of custom decor products and services. Unfortunately, this often means that our visitors leave with their design dreams put on hold because they did not anticipate the investment now needed to address the projects in their homes. While we always do our best to help homeowners find solutions that they can afford, there is little we can do about the rising costs of materials and services.

In the following posts, we’ve tried to address these expectations in the hopes of preparing homeowners for the investment needed for quality design projects. Please note that these price ranges are very generalized—you may find some options that fall below these expectations (though there won’t be many), or you may exceed these ranges very quickly depending on your tastes, style, and needs. It’s also very important to keep in mind that fluctuations in the economy play a large role in these prices, so what applies to pricing today may not be consistent in 6 months.

This is especially important for furniture pieces that will be used on a regular basis. How a material feels to your skin is just as vital as how it looks. No one wants to snuggle up on a sofa that is covered in a scratchy or rough material.
Selecting a fabric for an upholstery piece should always be done in person. Visit the store, or have samples sent to you before purchasing to make sure the texture and feel of the material is comfortable and pleasant. If it doesn't feel good - you wont use it!

Tip #5: Maintenance Reality

When selecting a fabric - be honest with yourself: Will you actually maintain this fabric? It's important to keep in mind that not all fabrics are cleaned the same way. Some fabrics are washable, some are dry clean only. Some can be spot cleaned with water at home, some need a solvent based cleaner. Fabrics that have variegated textures are usually less likely to show dirt and wear than those with flat weaves or single colors. Be sure to select a material that will work with your lifestyle.
