In this space, we layered textures, soft tones, and thoughtfully selected finishes to create a sense of quiet luxury. Every detail was considered to make the room feel both refined and restorative.

For this Montana project, our clients envisioned a mountain home that blends classic and contemporary design with the surrounding landscape. These mood boards capture that intent: natural materials that patina over time, a palette that mirrors the land, and simple architectural details to stand the test of time.

After 32 yrs in the Interior Design world and a couple year hiatus from any consistent social media postings, I’m reintroducing myself.

Hi! I’m Amy Slaughter! Owner and lead designer of SDS. Design has been more than a career for me. It’s been a life-long love that’s grown alongside my family and my journey. I love the relationship building aspect of my work and enjoy creating spaces that are highly personal and elevated.
In my studio, heart and passion guide every project. Based in the Hill Country of TX, we have exciting projects across the US. We’re launching new branding, a new website, and I am proud to lead an all women team!
When I am not designing, you can find me active in the great outdoors - running, skiing, traveling or enjoying simple pleasures like cooking or planting, spending time with my family and entertaining my active pups - Hank & Honey. In a perfect world, I would save all the stray dogs and all the old houses! And, I always have a project!
I believe great design begins with intention and tells a story. I can’t wait to start sharing more of mine, along with the spaces & inspirations that make this work so meaningful.

A cohesive home begins with a clear architectural language. In this residence, arches guide the experience from the moment of arrival - shaping entryways, framing views, and repeating throughout the interior and exterior spaces. The form carries through the entire home, creating rhythm, continuity, and a sense that every space belongs to the same story.

We curated antiques, Persian rugs, and paired them with contemporary furnishings. Hand-forged accessories and custom lighting introduce a sense of craftsmanship, while rich textiles and hand-blocked fabrics soften the timeless structure. A custom Kyle Bunting hide panel anchors the bar, adding a distinct moment of material interest.
