A masterclass in tailored symmetry.

Continuing our tour of this Boot Ranch residence, this vanity space highlights custom millwork paired with a classic marble counter and full backsplash. Modern, minimalist sconces flank the framed mirror, balancing timeless Texas Hill Country warmth with clean, contemporary utility.

Sometimes the smallest spaces deserve the most deliberate details.

Join Mustard Architects for a Lunch & Learn presented by TOTO! We'll be diving into "Smart Restrooms For Smart Cities: How IoT Technology Can Improve Sustainability and Customer Experience." In this course, we discuss how the Internet of Things (IoT) works and how it can help design professionals create sustainable buildings and improve occupant experience. We describe how LEED and WELL project teams can benefit from Smart Restrooms and plan future design improvements to save money and precious resources.

Behind the scenes with the camera crew at the Southern Living Idea House in Frieden! 🎬✨

We loved watching the video production team capture how Marvin brings natural light and Texas Hill Country views into every single room.

Texas Hill Country warmth, elevated.

Soaring ceilings and exposed timber paired with tailored oak cabinetry give this Boot Ranch kitchen a grounded, expansive feel. The oversized cage lanterns and custom steel range hood draw the eye upward, while the generous island invites everyone to gather.

Drop a comment below: What's your favorite element here—the statement lighting, the metal hood, or the warm wood tones?

We’re thrilled to share a feature on the 2026 Southern Living Idea House!

Partnering with TimberTech allowed us to design low-maintenance, highly durable outdoor decks that complement the native Texas Hill Country landscape while enduring its climate.

Check out the full article from TimberTech to learn how high-performance materials came together to elevate this design: https://www.timbertech.com/architects/projects/southern-living-idea-house-2026/

Mark your calendars: Public tours officially open this Friday, September 18th and run through December 20th! Proceeds benefit local non-profits including Operation Finally Home, Hunt Preservation Society, and the Gillespie County Historical Society.

Come walk the halls (and the decks!) in person.

Inspiration for architects and designers: how TimberTech decking brings seamless indoor-outdoor living to hot Texas climates.
