Originally founded over sixty years
ago, Sentry came to national prominence in the 1970’s when it was selected as the sole manufacturer of a unique luminaire to be installed throughout Manhattan’s Central Park. That fixture, known as the Central Park Luminaire, was the winner of a design competition conducted by the Central Park Conservancy and has been marketed exclusively by Sentry since that time. Following the success of the Central Park luminaire, Sentry's products and projects rapidly expanded. Today, Sentry offers hundreds of products that are available in innumerable configurations. Sentry projects include deployments at Yale University, Battery Park City in lower Manhattan, Indianapolis’ Lower Canal Park, Connecticut Convention Center, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Ellis Island, and countless others.
